Does you family do the nightly pick up? I came home tonight and Doug bragged that he had worked on the house for 3 whole hours today. And I could tell that he had worked on it. But that got me in the mood to do a bit more. So I ended up pulling the cushions off the couches and vacuuming, vacuuming the carpets, and steam mopping the bathroom and kitchen floors. The house is in no way clean, but it is certainly cleaner. It looks a lot better and is ready for a more in depth clean tomorrow.

Is your household a clean it up now before it gets worse or a clean it up in the morning when the energy is higher?

ROFL! That is SO true Sarah. Also when they say "I cleaned for 3 hours" you look around and think "Really? Maybe ONE hour..." LOL Oh well. It really did help and since then I have been working on it and the house IS starting to look much better. Still missing the memory stick to my camera though.

Also, Alee, don't you love it that, when husbands clean, they brag to no end, and want huge pats on the back, but when wives do (regardless of work situations), they are like, "so?"

I usually do. Since I went back to work, I have to do a little every morning and evening to keep things under control. If I didn't, it would pile up and I would spend my whole weekend cleaning. Where is the fun in that?

Also, everyone is so much happier and in a better mood if things are generally neat when we wake up, and when we come home from work/school. I always feel subconsciously tense and more frazzled if things are in disarray or chores are piling up.

Well, I just got home and decided I did not want to face a messy kitchen in the morning when I have so much to do, so I just got done cleaning up in there. And I do feel much better knowing that I have one less thing to do in the morning. I have to get my hubby ready to go back on the road and feed all the animals and milk goats and get him to his truck and me to Mrs. T's all before 9 AM.

Sometimes I have more energy to do things before I hit the bed and sometimes I just wait til morning.

I am definitely a nighttime cleaner. I can't stand going to bed when the house is messy.

Dawn- I know what you mean! Eek- Doug is horrible at folding clothes! He basically wads them up and folds them in half. He doesn't try to match up seams of shake out folds or anything!

I make dinner after work every night and my middle son cleans up. If my husband is off that day he'll make dinner & I'll do clean up. We try to balance it between the 3 of us, though no one cleans as good as me!

As for the rest of the house it is all me. I get grumpy and crack the whip with them once in awhile though. My husband will pitch in when I'm moving furniture to vacuum & wash floors. He helps with laundry too, but he is awful at folding and boy do I need to iron when he is done.

I cannot go to bed if the kitchen is not clean. Most everything stays picked up, but my kitchen has to be clean. I don't think I could come home from work and clean like you do! Every so often I get an energy spurt and start cleaning, but that is rarely at night.
