I had good luck cutting my left-over carving pumpkins thin (like to serve a honeydew melon), then peeling them, and cutting out the strings. Next, I chopped them (again, with the melon in mind) followed by dehydrating. The dog loves the "pumpkin pellets" for a snack. So do the horses. Drying them made them smaller and easier to store. I experimented with a bit to eat, and found them delicious. I think a light coating of brown sugar/water as a dip followed by another dry (maybe with pie spices in for good measure) and they would make a tasty addition to trail mix or granola.

I will definitely be growing some sugar pumpkins!

We make a difference.

Here is the blog

I used the same method the day before yesterday with a small pumpkin I had..it works perfectly. It is now in my freezer to use later
