Posted - Nov 22 2010 : 10:28:31 AM The day after, we make fondue to dip our left overs in! Neither of us are sandwich people so it gives us a great way to jazz up our left overs.
We also spend Friday cleaning the house so we can christmas decorate over the weekend.
What are your traditions?

Posted - Nov 25 2010 : 6:25:03 PM i miss American Thanksgiving so much! Thanksgiving is not as big a deal here. when i still lived in Texas, I tended to spend the day after Thanksgiving with my mom, hanging out. once in awhile we'd go shopping but not always. I got a snow day off work today and if I had known I'd be home, i'd have definitely cooked a turkey

Posted - Nov 25 2010 : 11:50:14 AM Having Thanksgiving leftovers, and getting the house ready for Yule. Picked up a couple of inexpensive items at Big Lots-a LED mini tree that plugs into a USB port & changes colors, and a short strand of LED lights for the top of my computer desk.

Posted - Nov 23 2010 : 10:40:46 PM Leftovers on Friday...turkey veg soup on Saturday for sure. Friday night our little town always has an annual light parade. Very fun and small town. Pretty much the same little parade we have on 4th of July, homecoming and before the fair, except with lights..I love it. My girls will both be on floats..for High school band and for 4H. I usually get out the decorations on Saturday..sometimes getting the tree up over the weekend as well..we can hardly wait. I do hate to see the autumn stuff packed away until next year though, it is my favorite season.

Posted - Nov 22 2010 : 11:05:09 AM In between Lexington and Harrodsburg. Hopkinsville isn't too far away, really.
It's a great time. We always have gone to Pleasant Hill since we got married and took an impromptu overnight stay there. Now that we have a little one, it's extra special.

Posted - Nov 22 2010 : 10:36:22 AM The Saturday after Thanksgiving always finds us at the Shaker settlement, Pleasant Hill, Kentucky, for the "Blessing of the Hounds". It's a beautiful event, with all the pageantry that accompanies the fox hunting (without the eventual killing of the fox, thank you). All the riders are in redcoat and breeches, and the 75-100 dogs are all braying and hooping and howling and the priest says a beautiful Irish blessing over the hounds and off the go! You can follow the hunt all over the rolling hills of Kentucky and it's truly a festive kick-off for our holiday season.
