Yesterday after taking a few snaps at Riverside Cemetery for a findagrave.com request my trusty "ancient" Nikon bit the dust. How ironic was that? I have had that little camera for a really long time.

I hate to spend the money on a camera right now-seems to be a bit of an extravagance in these tough times- but I have to have one for my business...I actually carry (used to carry) my camera in my purse where ever I went-

You just never know when you need to take a picture-

Any advice on what I should get? It doesn't have to be pretty-not a lot of bells and whistles-It just has to take a good photograph.

Talk to me ladies.

Dad got me a Canon PowerShot A540 about 4 or 5 yrs ago & it is a magnificent camera-small,w/zoom & macro lens,6.0 megapixels, and I swear by it-use it for auction shots, personal photos & my blog. Nows a good time as all the holiday sales are on. You might want to check eBay also.

Melody, I have a Nikon Coolpix L110 and I love it, I love taking pictures and am pretty basic as far as what I do. My Dad always had Nikon's, hence, my choice. I bought it on sale for $249.00, and I could not be happier with it.

I also like my Canon. I've had it for a few years now so not the most updated model, but it has lasted and the pictures are great. I bought a Kodak last year because I wanted higher mega pixels, but unfortunately, the camera lasted less than a year before I started having trouble.

Hi Melody, I have a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS. A little pricey and lots of bells and whistles, but it sure takes great pictures of the grandkids on the move.
