We have power!

Finally, disconnected various extension cords and went around shutting off the lights we had on from 3 days ago.

It is so nice to have electricity again-

Kept pretty warm last night thank goodness we have the wood stove in the living room. All the bedroom doors were kept open for circulation. It got down to 28 degrees in our area. My thoughts were with the other neighbors without heat!

The dawn was beautiful this morning. I was up before daylight and lit the two kerosene lamps that we have; one in the kitchen and one in the living room.

Still no word about when our power will be restored-Hopefully, by tonight.

Laundry is accumulating and we will have to make a run to the local laundromat tonight.

I miss being able to pop the tea kettle on for a good cup of tea in the morning. Our wood stove is not designed for cooking on the top; it stays only warm allowing the heat to circulate around and under. Bummer...

Please send warm thoughts and prayers that we will have power very soon!

Big big big wind-storm downed a huge tree in our neighbors back yard spliting the pole and eliminating power to several houses on our block. I never realized how much we depend on electricity!

This is day two without power...we are hooked up to a neighbors electricity via extension cords just this evening. God Bless Him!

The fridge is running finally, but no heat just the wood stove, which I have been keeping loaded to the max since yesterday afternoon.

Winds are whipping even as I write this.

Wisconsin Public Service is saying at the earliest Thursday we might have electricity.

Glad you have power back! You are lucky to have the stove! When the power goes out here- we are out of luck. We just have to try to stay warm with layers and such.

Good luck to you Melody. Our last winter outage lasted eight days. Thankfully, I'm able to use our fireplace insert for cooking, heating water, and keeping warm. Hope you get the power back on soon.

I saw where a barn in Wisconsin was blown off its foundation by a tornado. We had some winds here, but not that bad.

We are all set for firewood-The stove has not gotten cold at all so far-I am keeping it stoked while DH is at work and the kids are at school.
DH is sleeping downstairs tonight as it will drop to 32 they are saying.

It's embarrassing how ill prepared we are as a family when it comes to an outage.

Goodness! Sounds like you're in for a long winter already. Hope you've stocked up on wood, any chance you can put that downed tree to use in your wood stove? Stay safe!
