Good morning Ladies!!!! What's on the docket today?
Today we plan to prepare a roast in the crockpot, then are headed to church this morning to 'get our religion on'... :)
After we shall putz around the house, do nothing much, and wait until the 3pm soccor game that Billy is playing in! :)

His name is not familiar to me but I know several teachers in the Ark City school system. What is the name of their band? I'll be on the look out for where they are playing.

Lulu, oh my goodness! My sons and my son-in-law have a "country" band that plays at "Ark City" every so often. I have never been there myself, but have heard all about it. One of the members is a school teacher there! Small world.

oh, my oldest muffin does reenacting. He would have been excited about your "find". Thats how he got his tent back when. (of course now he's off to college, so its all on hold)

Well this morning we actually joined the church we have been attending lately. We're excited about that! Then when we got home a neighbor dropped by who is going through some really hard times, so we had him stay for lunch (grilled sausage and home style beans). Then we went to meet some fellow civil war reenactors who had some civil war camp stuff to sell, which we needed and bought. Now I'm settling in for the evening!

LOL! Linda! That's so funny about Costco! All summer long, whenever my son and his friends knew I was headed there, they'd beg to come with me - just for the food!!! :) 'Sure didn't mind them coming along when it came to loading and unloading!

Good afternoon ladies,
I've been drifting through some new (to me) threads and picking up alot of good ideas. Today was birthday party time for my oldest Ggranddaughter she just turned 7 today. I took it easy on myself and got deli meats for sandwiches. Because of health issues I don't cook large meals anymore. Even with the easy route I ended up taking a pain pill and a 2 hr nap when they all left. I enjoy the family but don't have much stamina any more.
From reading all you have been talking about the roast sure made my mouth water. Maybe I'll fix one tomorrow.
Mary Beth I looked up on the Okla map and I'm about 200 miles north of you. I live in a small town 6 miles north of the Oklahoma line, close to Arkansas City Ks.
I sprained my right leg about the middle of the summer and still trying to get over that. I've taken up crocheting and back to sewing and reading so it's always interesting to see what you other farmgirls are doing.

Got fresh donuts before church this morning (I know-we're bad) and then came home to a quiet, overcast afternoon of visiting with long distance family by phone and watching an old black and white movie. Creating a new chicken recipe for supper at the moment and hoping that it is edible.:-) It is such a peaceful day!

I love reading what ya'll are up to today. I can almost get a glimps into each house. Like going for a walk at night and seeing peoples homes all lit up when you walk by, getting a glimps of them watching tv or eating. Not that I get many evening walks these days.
We had church, I wanted to run by costco after, but hubby and son decided to come in with me. What a zoo! I havnt been in almost a year. There were all kinds of samples, my son getting his fill. Don't need to worry about feeding him lunch. The idea for today was to spend it sewing on a table runner I am making for a badge and christmas gift. Am still clinging to that idea while I type away. Enjoy the day!

Oh boy this house smells like pot roast heaven!!!!!! Oh good stuff! Can't wait until dinner!
Steelers are on and on my TV this afternoon!!! I am watching the game and making some bread to go along with my roast!

Church and 5.5 hours drive to Boise for Meeting tomorrow morning. But it is Pot luck Sunday at church so yesterday was filled with cooking today I will be filled with good food.

spent yesterday at college football, my daughter plays in the band, so today is rest and relax day, library, some laundry, homework hubby will watch the Browns, maybe a little baking. have been meaning to make brownies. a little walk outside in the fall air might feel good later too have a great sunday ! |

Hi Jamie!
We attend church on Saturday evenings - and I am very grateful to have that option, indeed! :) This morning I'm making banana nut muffins while my son is sleeping in (he had to get up VERY early yesterday for youth group) and my husband is doing a little clean-up from working on the front porch yesterday. Of course, the Steelers are on at 1:00, which means the house will be overrun with the not-so-faint, rather distinct bouquets of testosterone and man feet. To save myself from being overcome, I'll be busily running between snack-making in the kitchen, catching glimpses of replays on the television, and swinging the back door open and closed for some fresh air most of the afternoon. Ah, yes... I am a blessed woman, indeed! ;)
It's like an absolute ghost town around here during Steelers' games, which is nice if you want to so a little "early" holiday shopping - the mall literally echoes! But any self-respecting Steelers' fan wouldn't be caught dead being out and about in public during game time - unless, of course, you're running out for more snacks during the half! LOL! (And if you're not a Steelers' fan, you absolutely don't dare let on! LOL! Poor me - I grew up in New England, a Patriot's fan. I've had a Steelers transfusion, though, so now I bleed black and gold! I assure you, I didn't make that decision lightly - it was absolutely a matter of life and death! LOL!)
During the game, pork and kraut will be in the slow-cooker, with mashed potatoes at the ready by 7:00 for dinner. After the game and into late tonight I'll be finishing up laundry so my hubby has clean workclothes for the morning while preparing my son's homeschool lessons for Monday, working on an altered lunchbox for a friend and completing a gift basket for our church's spaghetti dinner raffle on Tuesday (which they need by tomorrow night).
Phew - I'm tired already just thinking about it! Why is it that Sunday's supposed to be a day of rest, and yet it's the day that I get the least rest of all?! I am not complaining at all, though - I am very, very grateful: I have a home filled with family and friends, clothing to wash, food to prepare and lots of love and laughter all around! Now, that's the good stuff! :)

Today I am baking and cleaning the house and trying to get a few loose ends tied up. Next week my son starts play practice (only a week long community thing) and so I won't be home much. I'm enjoying the chance to bake bake bake today! :)

Good Morning Jamie,
Just got back in town from the Agriculture Expo. in Moultrie Georgia. Had a wonderful time. Not going to make it to church this morning. Going to the grocery store. Finishing up on a crocheting project. Cooking a pork roast on the smoker for dinner. Bought some fresh okra in Georgia. Going to make some fried okra.Yum!! Haven't had any in a while.

Morning!
Hubby likes to make us girls breakfast before church. I hear that there is a Bears game on - I've been warned actually.  Hubby told me he'll drag out our halloween decorations from the garage attic. My girls want to decorate.
I'm making a roast as well. In the oven though. I hope it thaws in time. Haven't made one in ages.
