Hey 'sisters'.
I have been non-stop goofing off this summer & loving it....

My latest adventure was Glamping with a great group of ladies from Washington & ID.
On one of the evenings we sat around the camp fire, about 13 of us, we got to talking about how we meet which rolled into another discussion....Cancer....
As it turned out nearly 1/2 of the ladies there had either battled Cancer or were a mother/dauhter to someone struggling with cancer....how sobering...we forget how many women's (& men) lives are affected by Cancer...I am blessed that I, nor my mother, sister or daughter have done battle with cancer but when you realize that nearly every other woman has been affected, well the odds are very frightning.
But the wonderful thing about our campfire discussion,,,we laughed, we cried, and most of all we supported & embraced our fears.

Remember to take time to support a friend, a neighbor or a family member who is battleing Cancer...you have no idea how much it means to them...
That being said, I think it is time for me to send another "Hugz & I am thinking of you" card to a dear 'Sister on the Fly' friend...

(got a few pics on my graciesvictorian blog)

hey Ceejay,
way to cool! love the Van, aprons, hat's & hankie corsage....you girls ROCK!
A friend of mine will be walking in the next "Walk for the Cure" over in Seattle....
We gals need to be supportive of each other. Together we can do it all & find a cure.

As for Santa Barbara, I sure miss it....it was just a 40 min. drive up the road from where I use to live and I still have family there.(Goletta)..

Yes, Alee, it is a topic we should not be afraid to talk about. Sharing & caring.
As for my side of the family we are fortunate. However my mother-in-law did have breast cancer, went thru the mastecetomy(sp) and Chemo....and here she is, 25 years later and still cancer free....
hugz hugz & more hugz

Great topic Grace- It really is a scary disease. My Grandmother was a smoker who smoked heavily. By the time they found out she had cancer it had spread through out her body and she passed away shortly after I turned 6. I still wish I had known her better. The great lady that takes care of my horse has fought and beaten breast cancer. I pray that Nora and I never have to battle Cancer.

Over half of my family is dead because of one form or another of cancer It is a horrible, horrible disease. My dad, who is in his 80's now has survived three kinds of cancer. I'm just going to send him a wonderful email now!

Cancer is a scary conversation to have. I'm so glad that you girls got the opportunity to share, laugh, cry and most of all move on from it.
What a wonderful time that must have been!

Hey Grace . . . I'm glad you all had that opportunity.

Check out our thread titled "IN IT TO END IT" . . FARMGIRLS FOR THE FIGHT!

It's at the top of page 6 in this ACROSS THE FENCE section. My daughter and I just crewed an AVON Walk for Breast Cancer event in Santa Barbara, CA.
