Well,I thought Dad & I had resigned ourselves to staying put,tho situations with one of the neighbors have worsened-he now has peeps living in his RV in the driveway, conversations right outside our house at 2,3,4AM,all sorts of noise related stuff.
At any rate,a pair of realtors that hadn't been thru our area in a loong time stopped by to chat-they've heard us talk about moving to NM since '04 or '05. Well, the topic of adding on to the house we are in now came up when one of them said "well, you can make the house as nice as you like, but you'll still be in Gardena". Hmmmmm that was food for thought....then they suggested we look online for a property in NM that we both liked & could afford. So,out of mere curiosity,I did just that & stumbled on a property I drooled over 5+ acres,a couple of out buildings/workshop structures. I thought of how much I've wanted to get into fiddle repair & rehairing violin bows but don't have the room. The house is a beauty-not too big,not too small. The price is staggeringly low. It has 2 wells & a septic tank, and we're both tempted but cautious. Been talking with the realtor here & there- property tax would be about $1,500 a year, slightly more than what Dad pays now. I could have chickens there,my own fresh eggs,a vegatable garden, just all sorts of stuff. (Gardena doesn't allow chickens) So we'll see what goes on with that. The one outbuilding is red like a barn. Just want to be sure whatever we do is a wise decision.

If you are not happy where you are give a change serious consideration. Annoying neighbors might move away themselves, but don't bank on that. Sometimes coincidences are a message for us. You happened to look at a given moment and the right thing just may be available. I don't know what we'd do without garden, space for what we want to do and neighbors who are mostly nice but are far enough away. Good luck! Only you will know when its the right time to make a move.
