It may seem silly but I'm so excited about my 'new' truck. All these years I've been hauling stuff in my van......feed bags, hay, fencing, even animals.

It's a 1999 Dodge 2500, single cab, long bed. I got it yesterday and have already hauled a 1000 pound round bale with it.

I have managed my farm with just my family van and a flatbed trailer. I've borrowed a truck and horse trailer when my daughters want to go barrel racing. I have always tried to teach my daughters to achieve their goals even if they don't have the perfect tools. It's been a good life so far.

But, I feel like a dream has come true. I love my truck!

Blessings,
Catherine

hey Catherine,
Congrats on the Truck.....
We have an old 1993 4x4 Chevy p/u...it is our 'farm truck' foundly known as the "Beater w/a Heater" lol!
I can not begin to tell ya the stuff we have hauled around in it,,,including goats & a sheep....long story!
I would love to get my hands on a 1964 Chevy to pull my vintage trailers....how cool would that be?
Have fun & fall in love w/your truck.
What's that song?,,,"My girl thinks my truck is sexy"...lol!

Congrats on the truck. I LOVE my truck. My husband keeps wanting to trade it in but I tell him to keep his hands off my TRUCK. Real cowgirls "ALWAYS" drive trucks. I am lucky I have a crew cab so I can take more than just me. It is great with the horse trailer and all the stuff that goes along. Enjoy the truck.

Yay on your truck. I have a Dodge diesel for pulling my horse trailer, etc., and love it.

I have had my own truck since 1999. Love it. My only complaint is that I can only haul one other person beside myself. Then gas mileage is another story, especially when the AC is in use.

I love it though. I also like being able to sit high enough that I am not looking at others lug nuts like I was in my Buick Regal.

Wow, I bet you are more than thrilled, Catherine. It is hard enough work, let alone not having the right 'materials'. A truck is a 'can hardly do without'. I gave up a car for 10 years for a truck to run my painting business. It put food on the table. Kinda' hard to haul extension ladders in a car! lol

Congrats! How fun! I, too, haul everything in my van (which I lovingly call my "hay truck" lol). I just got a tarp for the inside so when I get my bale of straw (for composting), it won't be such a bear to vacuum. I look at trucks & dream, too :-) but with my little ones, it'll be a van/hay truck for awhile, which is okay. What color is it? Maybe you could post a picture :-)

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
