It's ON!

July 29 & 30, 2006

Rock Falls IL (call or email for more detailed directions)

Spaces available for camping, hotels within 5 miles of homestead.

Potluck both days, bring what you need and we'll share with all.

This will be an informal get together for like-minded people who would like to share with/learn from others.

Possible events/classes:

Blacksmithing
Spinning
Weaving
Animal Care
Soapmaking
Harnessing & Driving draft horses
Milking a cow
Gardening
Cooking on open fire with cast iron
???

If you have a talent you would like to share with others, bring what you need.

There will be no set time for classes/demonstrations. In keeping with our adage, "We don't have a plan and we're sticking to it!"

We don't expect too many folks - that's why we really don't have a plan and are sticking to it - we can be more flexible that way.

We'll see what folks want to do when they get here & we'll do it.

We are asking that folks do NOT bring firearms, alcohol or dogs.

If folks want to bring livestock to sell/trade, that is fine but they must provide their own enclosures and let us know so we can see if we have enough place to put them to maintain our own bio-security.

HI, Cyndi,
It sounds absolutely wonderful. I am sorry that this will not work for my schedule I am totally booked that weekend, which really is a good thing, too, but would really have liked to come to your Homesteading Weekend. I hope it is a success for you so that you will be able to do it again. I'd love to hear how it goes and will look forward to your posts about it the first part of August. And also the experience from those who will be able to attend. It really sounds like a great weekend. Blessings on all your preparations.

In His hands,
Lynda L.

Pray in faith and you will not live in doubt.

Sounds like fun! I will check my calendar and check with my boyfriend. We would love to do this! Most likely we will be able to come but I'll let you know as soon as I find out. How exciting! :)
