So I usually get up because Nora is in someway waking me up. Either climbing into bed with me, or telling me it's morning time, or this morning by tickling my feet-

So then we stumble to the living room and usually I will turn on kid-safe educational cartoons for her (The Cat in the Hat, Curious George, Super Why etc).

It takes me a few minutes to get up and running, but while she is watching her shows, I get her breakfast and make us a pot of hot tea. Then we eat our breakfast and have our tea together.

After that I get her ready for preschool (baths every couple of days due to her delicate skin). We get teeth brushed, face washed, and hair combed. Then the packed lunch gets made.

By that time usually it's time to get Doug up and going. Nora and I cuddle or play while he gets ready and I send them out the door.
I usually pour myself another cup of tea and walk around the house turning off TV, lights, etc to reduce noise and electricity being used. AH....Peace and quiet!!

Then I get about an hour to myself before I have to be getting my purse and bag ready for work and then I start my drive to work.

Hi Alee! That sounds so relaxing! I usually wake up around 5:45 or 6, sometimes a little later. I eat my breakfast while catching up on tv, then around 6:30, I kick it into high gear! I grab my uniform clothes, head upstairs, and wash up. I'm usually all ready for school about 6:50, so then I go down and make my lunch, get my school stuff together, and walk my dog. I say goodbye to my Mom, and then my dad picks me up for school about 7:10. I have it down pat now!

Hi Alee! Oh, how I miss the days when my son was little and I was the greatest thing next to sunshine and Toy Story! LOL! I love that you have tea with your little girl - I'm sure she's going to treasure that memory for a lifetime! :) Your mornings sound delightful! I just love the romance of morning... the sunrise, the birds chirping, the sleepy yawns and rubbing eyes bright. There is nothing like appreciating the start of a new day, especially when shared with those you love. Each morning is a precious gift, and done right, it can make your whole day bright!

My morning always starts with my favorite three guys: my husband, God and my son. At about 4:00 or 4:30 I get up, make my hubby's coffee, fix his breakfast and make sure he takes his vitamins! I'm at my best first thing in the morning, so my goofey husband likes to loudly crunch on my homemade granola to tease me - he says it helps drown out my yammering! LOL! It's all in good fun. We've been married 22 years, and we still make each other laugh on a daily basis. I'm crazy about him, just crazy about him. ANYHOW... His lunch is always prepared the night before, so he packs his lunchbox while I let the dog out and in and give her a cookie. When he's ready to leave, we meet at the door for a slightly lingering hug and kiss... and we always say "I love you," and he always makes sure to say good-bye to our dog, too, before he makes his way to the work van. I always stand at the storm door to watch him go (which is a good thing - this morning I had to call him to remind him to put his headlights on! He's not quite the morning person that I am! LOL!), and I have this little prayer I pray as I watch his tail lights fade into the darkness. Next I spend about an hour or so with God, first praying the Rosary and my other prayers, reading a passage or two of Scripture, then talking over any concerns and celebrating the good things with Him, asking what He'd like me to do for Him today. After a little while, sleepiness usually creeps its way back into my bones, so I roll back under my cozy covers for a few more hours of shuteye. About 9:30 I'm wide awake again and ready to seize the day! Every morning starts with coffee - either hot or iced, with cream and sugar - yum! Then my son and I share a good breakfast while he catches me up on anything I may have missed the day before. I love listening to his stories - he's so animated and expressive! He makes me laugh. There's always laughter in our home, thank goodness. Before you know it, the books are open and homeschool begins!

I try very hard to cherish every moment I have. Life is fragile, and so are the people we love. Making sure I spend time with "my guys" in the morning always makes everything seem right with the world!

God gave us two hands... one to help ourselves, and one to help others!
