Hey Farmgirls,
Thought we'd share a few photos of us at the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer Event this past weekend in Santa Barbara, CA. Robin and I were there working on the crew for this event as the "FARMGIRLS FOR THE FIGHT". We drove a sweep van which is to support walkers and road crew . . picking up and transporting walkers who are having trouble, making sure moto crew on traffic control have what they need. It is mentally exhausting because we are trying to navigate, read maps, watch city traffic, watch walkers who, for the most part are not paying attention to their own safety.
Anyway, we had a great time and were "toast" by the time it was over Sunday night.

In front of the Santa Barbara Mission

Farmgirl Robin eating homegrown cherry tomatoes we brought along.

The other side of our van . . .we decorated with aprons on the outside.

Made "corsages" from vintage hankies with purple lace to wear on our pink flounce aprons.

I want to thank some of the FARMGIRL "MAIL ART" ARTISTS for providing some AWESOME Special Project "Breast Cancer" mail art for us to decorate our sweep van.

We mounted those pieces in the windows of the van and let our "guest" passengers know what they were and a bit about the connection.

Pictures of the mail art are posted in the "MAIL ART-NEW for 2010" thread under FARMGIRL SWAP. And I posted a couple pics attempting to show the pieces in the van.

THANK YOU MAIL ARTISTS!!!!! YOUR PIECES WERE NOTICED AND APPRECIATED!!!!

We had a load of fun . . . crewing is mentally exhausting so by the end of Sunday we were VERY, VERY, VERY TIRED!!! We went and walked the beach, had dinner and then went to bed!!!!

Peggy: Diane. . aka "Fiddlehead Farm" here on the forum made the hats. They are wonderful!!! She will make them in just about any color.

Karen: I just might have to pursue selling Hankie "Corsages".

Anyway, we are back in Phoenix and I will drive on to my home in Colorado tomorrow.
THANKS FOR LETTING US SHARE!!!!
