I am thinking of naming my house, lol. And I need ideas, but let me first tell you something about my house and me, to give you some ideas which way to think

My house is a small rental, smack in the middle of other houses, neighbors on both sides. Attached to my house, so not free standing. My house is "just" a regular house, not a cottage, not a farm, just a plain house. I love living here, so it doesn't matter to me at all

I love pink, vintage, roses, shabby..it has a small garden in front that , at the moment is empty of everything exept a few lavender plants duh. I want to plant some roses next spring, but at the moment it is quite bare

SO now my question: do you have any idea of names?? I am looking for a fun kind of name which I will paint on a wood board and attach to my house. NOBODY in my street has named their house so I know mine will stand out haha! (A lot of people here will kind of frown but I don't give a hoot about that, my home, my choice )

Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)

It sounds like we like the same kinds of things. How about "Happy House" since it makes you feel good living there. On the sign you could put roses and lavender. Half the fun of life is in the planning. Have fun. Your farmfriend Bonnie

LOVE "Roses of Pink" :) Thanks Denise, maybe that will be it.
What we call a bungalow here is NOT what I see my house at all lol. A bungalow here is a detached house. I like the name but....I really do think Roses of Pink is it. Will let y'all know when I make it haha. Maybe this weekend, it is raining hard and will do so all weekend so guess it is a nice weekend to paint something springy

Hmmmm pink,,,,roses.....love.....a small dwelling can be a cottage, a bungalow, and here we sometimes call them "shacks". Remember the song by the B-52s called "The Love Shack?" (But I don't think it would be a good idea for a house name!} Your house is always in bloom or in the blooming process. Let's see..... Ever Blooming Acres would be good-you could substitute the last word with cottage or whatever you wish.

The kind of house you are describing is what we would call a bungalow so how about Roses Bungalow or Pink Roses Bungalow?

My mom told me I should name our house when we moved in. I still haven't come up with one. We did name a gum tree in our yard, Luke.
I can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm thinking something with Pink or Rose in it would be a nice name.

Here is some food for thought...pink roses and their meanings. Maybe look up names of pink roses and pick one of those for your house.

History and Meaning of Pink Roses
Primary Significance: Love, Gratitude, Appreciation

Pink roses have a rich history that comes with being one of the longest existing roses known to us - in fact, pink roses have even been depicted in some of the earliest known pieces of art. When roses first began to be cultivated, the majority of them existed in various shades of pink, from the palest pink to the deepest crimson. Prior to that, pink roses were the dominant species among wild roses, and were likely among the earliest roses to evolve.

In time, discoveries of new rose species and the development of modern hybridization techniques would introduce many new colors of roses. Also introduced at this time were roses with the ability to bloom repeatedly throughout the year. This was a significant development, as earlier garden roses would typically only bloom once a year. As more colors and types of roses entered the palette, each began to take on their own meanings. So too, did the meaning of the pink rose become more refined.

Above all, roses are a symbol for love and gratitude. As the pink rose was the most prevalent among the old garden roses, it was most strongly associated with these sentiments. While different roses may have more specific meanings, these are still the underlying message of any color rose. Pink roses also now carry a connotation of grace and elegance, as well as sweetness and poetic romance. Different shades of pink also carry their own significance. Dark pink roses are symbolic of gratitude and appreciation, and are a traditional way to send a message of thanks. Light pink roses are associated with gentleness and admiration, and can also be used as an expression of sympathy.

With the many ways in which they can be used to express a range of meanings, pink roses continue to maintain their popularity. The beautiful appearance and fragrance so strongly associated with roses in general, as well as their symbolic importance, can be traced back to the pink rose. While much has changed over the years, pink roses have consistently held their place of prominence in the world of flowers. Today, pink roses enjoy their own unique position representing elegance and refinement, as well as communicating thanks and admiration. The recipient of an arrangement of pink roses is sure to feel appreciated and special.
