For the first time this month I could smell Fall in the air this morning. I hope we get a bit of Fall here before the snow flies. Some years we'vw had snowfall by Halloween.

Beth, I think I feel like your horse when fall arrives! It's my favorite season change! I love that so many farmgirls can describe the smell of fall on the horizon!

Went to the barn today to feed and it was under 80. That is fall for Houston, it was so nice I took my horse out and went riding. The leaves were actually falling on the trail as I went along. My horse was sure feeling it. It was all I could do to keep him at a walk trot and not an all out canter. Loved every minute of it.

Oh yes there is a hint of fall in the air, we turned off the AC today so that we could enjoy the beautiful temps. We too have had snow for Halloween, it is always disappointing for the kids cause they have to wear their winter coats over their costumes....

We had a terrific rain last night and when I dropped my daughter off at school, it did smell like fall. Too bad it will be 98 degrees again today. It was 102 yesterday. Fall comes late here.

When we lived in Ohio, we got snow here and there for Halloween. We had a few white Easters.

Ahhhh yes, Fall is on its way! Here on Long Island our temp is 64 degrees right now (at 10pm) AHHHH Windows open and loving it- there is even quite a breeze a blowin out there. I'm lovin' it (although I know that we still have hot weather ahead) It is truly a treat to get these little glimpses of natures promises...

Karen, you need to come up North a little. It's really not that bad up here. We are going to start having some really cool nights. I might get to turn off the AC and open some windows!

I was just telling my husband the other day-"Smells like school is about to start!"

We noticed on our trip to and from Mackinac Island last weekend that indeed some trees are starting to have that autumn "tinge."

I have to tell you though I am kind of glad fall is on her way! It's the best time of year for me...

Yup, some years and we're really not that far north. Usually the snow is here for good mid/late-Novemberish
