Posted - Aug 07 2010 : 9:59:02 PM The "Country Living Fair" in Stone Mountain Georgia? It is being held from October 22-24th at Stone Mountain Park, just outside of Atlanta. I have a friend that lives nearby, and I have always wanted to go to something like this, so I am thinkin' that if finances allow, this just might be my year! Living in NY it is quite a trip- we would have to fly which would cost at least $600, but I thought that I could "kill two birds with one stone" and visit friends and have some fun at the fair! Just curious if any other farmgirls were planning on goin'. If so I would love to meet up with you and connect a smilin' face with a name! Smiles, Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

Posted - Aug 08 2010 : 3:37:14 PM Lisa- Thanks for some first hand input... I have no doubt that things will be on the expensive side.. after all it is kinda like my grandpa used to say "a tourist trap"! I do enjoy just browsing and "stealin' ideas" too! They are having it in Ohio again this year too- towards the end of September. My girlfriend who lives just outside of Atlanta says she has seen advertisments for the fair already- so I imagine that it would draw quite a crowd. Thanks again for your input! Posted - Aug 08 2010 : 3:33:50 PM Wow Kelly- I cant believe I've met someone on here from Patchogue! Where exactly did you grow up? How old were you when you moved? Do you "remember" much about Long Island? Would love to chat with you! Smiles, Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

Posted - Aug 08 2010 : 09:13:05 AM I went to it when it was in OH at the Workshops of David Smith. It was crazy busy! They had so many vendors, & many you had to stand in line to see. I had to laugh, as the gal I went with said, "I don't know about you, but there's only 2 things I'll wait in line for, Jesus & Elvis!" There was quite a bit to see, but most things were outrageously expensive (at least for me) It is quite the event though. |

Posted - Aug 08 2010 : 07:41:26 AM Hi Kris! Funny you should reply.. I thought of you GA girls when I posted this. I've seen it advertised for years in my Country Living magazine and happened to notice that this year it is at Stone Mountain, Ga. I immediately thought to my self "Wow" perhpas I can actually make this one! You can look it up simply by googling "country Living Fair Atlanta" or look at Stone Mountain Georgia. I've been to Stone Mountain a year or so ago and it is, in itself a really neat place. From what I understand there will be hundreds of vendors, with all things "Country" from items to food etc. It just looks like something I would enjoy, so I am going to really try and make it. I've been near Chattanooga, when we visit our friends from Atlanta. We went to Ruby falls and also an incline railway attraction...sound familiar? We will have to keep in touch about the fair.. Hope to hear from ya! Smiles, Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

Posted - Aug 08 2010 : 07:26:39 AM Laurie, please tell me more about this. What kind of fair is it? It is not too far from me. I am up near Chattanooga, only a few hours drive for me. I would love to meet more of you farmgirls! Is there a web site about it?
Kris
