What a wonderful way to sleep and wake up. I had the window wide open last night (as I do most nights).

Today will be hot I am sure- but last night left me wishing for an extra blanket. Our part of the world is already starting it's slow march to autumn. The days are not quite as scorching hot and the evenings are getting nice and cool.

Hopefully my tomatoes will get the hint and start ripening faster!!

More rain & flash floods.....yuck! The rain is washing out our road in 2 places right by our house. I hope it doesn't break through or we will have no way out.

I have had fall fever for a while now but with the temps in the 90's and the dew point to match it is hard to keep the visions of pumpkins and gourds in my head....Maybe the cool weather is comin our way, I for one will keep my fingers crossed! Enjoy your beautiful weather.

We had what I like to call a 'gift morning' on Sunday. We woke up before the sun came up and it was so nice and cool we sat on the porch and watched the sun rise. There were a few geese flying and honking overhead and crows were cawing. It reminded so much of a day in fall, but after noon it started to get hot and near 90 F. We have had a very hot summer here in Kentucky and I'm really looking forward to fall. It's my favorite time of year!

North Carolina is swealtering - temps for the rest of the week will be nearing 100! Ugh, I'm sooo grateful for air conditioning, but at the same time, I'm sick of it too. I just want to throw open the windows and let the cool breezes blow! Hopefully soon.

It'll be a while before the days are actually cool here- but last night the temperature was below 55 degrees! The tomatoes are starting to get the message that they had better start ripening. I have a handful of tomatoes that are orangish red. A couple more days on the vine and they should be ready to pick! :D

Oh and Nora says hi! She really wanted to be part of this post!

Cool weather? I am longing for it. It is so humid here that when you go outside in the early morning, the outside doorknobs and door are literally dripping with condensation. Delightful! Fall is absolutely my favorite time of the year, and I cannot wait.

We have had a couple beautiful days here too! I'm so excited for fall to be here. It's my favorite season. I can never wait for it to get here and I miss it so when it's gone. I'd be a happy girl to have fall all year LOL!

Laurie, I know what you mean about fall! I love warm summer days, but there's something about fall, maybe the way that everyone seems to come together in fall, or just the scents, I don't know! But I know what you're talking about!

AHHH.. Fall! We have had a few days here or there where the nights dip down into the mid 60's and I LOVE it! All of the stores are stocking up on the fall decorations etc and as much as I love summer, there's just somethin' about Fall! We have plenty of hot weather left here on Long Island, but the promise of Fall is definately on my mind!

We had the same cool weather here also. My dog wanted to get under the blanket so you know it was chilly. Was in the 80s today. Cool now ...another good night for sleeping. My tomatoes are loaded but slow to ripen also. I'm sure they will ripen all at once and kill me canning them...and I'm sure the heat will be back! LOL!

My favorite time of year is Fall and I LOVE winter and a good old fashioned snowstorm!

Well it is hot in my neck of the woods and of course the county fair is this week so it wouldn't be fair without heat. I look forward to cooler nights.

My area has been feeling the heat, too. We've also been getting our fair share of showers and thunderstorms. I've heard the sirens three times this summer, and that's three times more than any other summer. Someone please send the autumn bug my way!

Yeah I'd like some of that cooler air my way too. We have another excessive heat threat coming the beginning of next week. YUCK!!!

Same here last night....Blessed cool evening breeze coming off the bay carrying with it just the faintest scent of autumn!

Isn't it funny how one can get a physical sense of a changing season overnight?
