it is said that during the time of the black plague a doctor invented a mask to cover his face completely from his patients. He then would stuff the beak portion of the mask with herbs and medicines to help prevent himself from catching the plague. He also carried a stick around so that he did not have to touch his patients at all. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
