Posted - Aug 03 2010 : 06:23:09 AM I've been reading with interest, "Am I Losing My Mind"
I was just wondering if any of you saw the movie,
"The Others" with Nicole Kidman?
I would highly recommend it for those of you who like ghost type stories. It's one of my favorites. I didn't know what was happening until the end!

Posted - Aug 24 2010 : 7:53:49 PM I remember The Ghost and Mr. Chicken! And I'm not sure if I ever did see the original Haunting. I'll have to check it out.

Posted - Aug 24 2010 : 5:10:25 PM I really dislike slasher movies but love suspense and ghost stories. If you want a good one that is great with kids. The Ghost and Mr. Chicken is really cute and fun. The original Haunting is good too.

Posted - Aug 24 2010 : 3:51:41 PM Kittykill, I've never heard of that movie but see that Netflix has it. It sounds good and scarey!
I just added it to my list.
I thought of another one that I liked a lot.
The Haunting with Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta Jones and Owen Wilson.

Posted - Aug 24 2010 : 3:44:35 PM Well really. I'm still not getting this.
Melanie, thanks for the tip. I just clicked it when I messed up on the quoting and then......geeezzz
Anyway.
I've seen Haunting in Conneticut, that was a scarey one too.
I don't like slasher movies either, not at all.
If I can think of any other good ghost movies, I'll post.

Posted - Aug 21 2010 : 08:15:09 AM Violet~ at the top of this thread on the right you will find a link that says "subscribe to this thread". MJF will even send ya a little email to let you know when someone has poted on the thread.
I've seen this movie once. I've been wanting to see it again as well as some others, but I'm just a wee bit of a chicken right now. LOL
One that I watched before moving- Haunting in Connecticut. That one definately put me on the edge of my seat! I have a hard time finding these kinds of movies, but I love them when I do. Most of the time scarey movies are the poorly made slasher types and I don't care for those. So I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else likes.

Posted - Aug 20 2010 : 11:30:42 PM I lost this thread. I guess I don't know how to keep track of a thread here on the farm.
Anyway, I'm glad to know that we all love this movie. I'm not sure how many times I've seen it, but I love it everytime.
If you haven't seen it yet, rent it, you will not be disappointed!
Nothing slasher about this movie.
Does anybody have any others they can recommend? (I think that may have been a pun. Get it? any others?) LOL

Posted - Aug 04 2010 : 3:23:16 PM It had such an interesting twist. I love real ghost stories and really bad "B" 1950's horror movies. You know, the real silly ones? I'm a huge movie buff.

Posted - Aug 04 2010 : 2:57:56 PM When I was a girl I LOVED scary movies but then they started doing only slasher scary movies. This one reminded me of the ones I liked as a kid. Highly recommended on some dark, October, full moon kind of night!

Posted - Aug 04 2010 : 2:44:51 PM I agree, that was such an awesome move. I'm with Teresa, the ending makes it impossible to forget. I remember my husband and I looking at each other, jaws dropped, saying "What just happened?????"

Posted - Aug 04 2010 : 04:06:58 AM What a scary movie that really knocks you for a loop at the end!! I won't ruin it, but it is one of those movies that you just never forget! I didn't know it was based on a book. Silly me, almost all movies are based on books!! I will check it out--thanks Violet!
