good morning farmgirls .. thought i'd post my BLOG ramblings of my adventures yesterday for ya'll to see. oh do come visit and visit often .. blog site address is above. xo

p.s. photos are posted on blog site.

over the river .. and through the woods .. and up and down rolling green hills ... and round and round windy back-roads .. we did go .. to TWIGS' house!

Kathy (Sugar Bucket) .. and Pamela (Beehind Thyme) and Frannie (Cabin Creek Farm) were to meet at NOON for lunch and Twigs was going to give the gurlz some 'web-site' lessons.

Kathy was up and on her way before the rooster crowed . and Pamela and I 'ambled and rambled' our way to Lacie, Kentucky with plans to make a 'quick' stop at our most favorite 'junque' shoppe in Kentucky .. Traderbakers in La Grange!

Well, t'wixt and t'ween stops for 'senior coffee' and pee breaks and non-stop running of our mouths .. we didn't get to LaGrange until NOON. Decided we'd make a 'secret' stop for 'pre-lunch' at a fast-food chicken drive-through. As i'm preparing to order .. Pamela's phone rings ... BUSTED!!! It was Twigs! We, of course, LIED and told her we had just arrived at TRADERBAKERS .. and i zipped outta' line so she wouldn't hear "Welcome to Chicken-Land .. can i take your order".

O.K. .. here's a coupla' those 'you had to have been there stories' for ya' ..

PICTURE THIS: We decide to go in and have our lunch .. we're standing in line trying to make up our feeble minds .. hunched over the counter and talking to the order-girl. Suddenly, belt slips and slides slinkily down over my hips and lands wrapped around my ankles .. I let out a SCREAM .. absolutely SURE that the elastic had given up the ghost on my skirt and that IT was in a pool around my feet with my bare butt providing 'entertainment' for the masses of people dining on their chicken 'wings and things'!

Of course, by the time i realize it was only my belt .. i'm laughing uncontrollably .. cuz' it is conjuring up memories of the time that i was shopping with
my teenage granddaughter and the worn elastic on my underpants snapped and i had to move like lightening to clutch at them to keep them from falling and tripping me upside down holding my ankles in a death-grip while rolling around the store floor!

As i stood in the chicken line doubled over unable to utter an intelligible sound .. i continued to remember frantically clutching in the vicinity of my crotch .. with arms loaded with packages and telling my granddaughter we HAD to head for the car NOW. When we finally approached the car down the long lane of the parking lot .. i decided to give my granddaughter a nostalgic "grammie moment .. and forever memory". I said: "Jennifer .. look what grammie can do" .. and i let loose of the errant underoos .. which immediately spun to the ground .. i gingerly stepped out of one 'pantie-hole' .. and twirled my leg like a professional soccer player going for the goalie .. and whipped those suckers a good twenty feet .. landing near the trunk of our car! (Jennifer's head did one of those "Exorcist" .. 180-degree spins looking for anyone she might know .. and she just turned around and walked back to the mall .. disavowing all knowledge of the crazy woman and like the 'mission impossible' tapes .. hoping that in 15 seconds i'd 'self-destruct'.

WELL .. ANYHOO .. after ordering a chicken leg .. Pamela and i hustled over to Traderbakers for some serious shopping! Now .. the only problem with going to a GREAT prim store with a GREAT prim friend .. is that it can lead to some profound hair-pulling, biting and scratching as you both reach for the same treasure! Pamela is a FANTASTIC folk-art painter and looks for wonderfully unusual WOODEN things to paint on. The photos above are two great little pieces i got at her shoppe. The first photo is a wood/glass cannister set that i keep our cereal in .. has a dear saltbox design. The second is a sweet 'magazine rack' with a sheepie. I swear .. the chile' piled a grocery cart fulla' so much stuff she couldn't see over it .. then proceeded to start filling MY basket with her treasures! I mostly got BOOKS! (will take some pics later of my purchases to show ya'). With my already stuffed van even fuller .. we finally headed down the road to Twigs' house .. on a little back-road, we passed a home-business green house with a yard full of plants .. (pamela had taken over the driving from Traderbakers .. and in true 'womanhood-style' .. without blinking an eye .. she whipped that van into a an abrupt U-turn driving through someone's front yard .. and we stopped for PLANTS! After chatting with the plant lady about plants and tornadoes .. we headed back down the road ... we passed Kathy who had given up on waiting for us (she had evening plans) .. now mind you .. it was close to FIVE p.m. by the time we arrived at Twigs' house! Twigsy took us to her adorable, adorable shoppe overflowing with treasures .. and of course .. we bought lots more stuff there. Pamela went 'rooting round in her back storage room .. and found boxes and boxes of stuff she wanted! By the time we got all these things in my van .. there 'war'nt' room for a sneeze or fart in there!

Back to Twigs' for pizza and gossipin' and gigglin' and web-site building. I swear .. we laughed so hard all day long my sides ache this morning! (There just isn't anything in this world like good gurlfrenz!)Pamela created her first original doll-pattern and got it on line .. and soon her 'model' doll will be on her site for YOU to adopt! At about midnight .. while we are huddled closely together around the computer ... that precious little 4-year old William crept into the room with his pillow and blankee .. and skootched right between our feet (like a baby bird nesting neath' his momma and her two visiting sisters). Twigs' honey, Bruce is SUCH a wonderful understanding man .. i KNOW we had to have kept him awake with all our howling and yowling! We decided we better hit the road .. let that family get some rest .. and we knew we had a good two hour (or more .. if we got lost) ride home!Again .. we jabbered non-stop all the way back to Cabin Creek and arrived a 2:45 a.m.

Well, chilluns' .. that was my 'grande adventure' here in 'ole "Kaintuckee" yesterday .. and NOW .. i have a van full of prizes and plants to unload.Ya'll have a Terrific Tuesday .. and i'll be hollerin' over the fence at you again soon! xo, frannie

Laughter is good for the soul... and probably burns calories. I about split my sides, too. Jennifer has herself a great!!! grandmother. Loved your story, as always. Yes, you do need to write a book (or several; I'll buy them.)

There is a Redeemer.

I think we all need to take up a collection and buy Frannie some new underoos!
Honestly Frannie, I could read and read your ramblings. You should so write a book. Not only a treasure for your family, but for all to read. You have a definite gift of the gab and I could read on and on your writings.
