Posted - Jul 29 2010 : 07:33:21 AM Preface with this: Dad & I are fine, but got rear ended on Monday at a red light. Obviously the girl was distracted & in a hurry. No detectable damage to my car except for the nice lic. plate stain on my rear bumper. Going to have it checked at the dealership tho. I've never seen anyone so unwilling to give the required info. From the looks of her front bumper,I'd safely say this wasn't her first time. Just grateful no one was hurt. Dad had another follow up on his cataract procedure,he's still not seeing well & the last cataract removal was in early Feb. Dr wants to do a laser which can be done really quick, but he said it couldn't be done on that visit as there was no time. (doncha love paradoxes?) Come next week. Well, next open app is 8/18. kinda sorry I chose this guy as it doesn't seem to matter to him that Dads vision is still off this far down the road. I think he's more in it for the $$ as he sees a ton of patients a day & his office is one of those big posh ones. Working at the college for a half day today, then off thru the weekend.

Posted - Jul 30 2010 : 12:08:19 PM Glad you and your dad didn't get hurt in the accident.
I wonder if you can take your dad to a different doc. I had a similar experience with my son and an eye doctor. My son had eye surgery 5 years ago (lazy eye). Well it didn't take. You can only see it turn in when he doesn't wear his glasses. The surgeons of course want to repeat his surgery. When I asked if surgery would help correct his vision problems, they got all technical and tried to avoid the question. I finally told them if it won't help correct his vision and it's only cosmetic (which like I said you don't know he even has this problem unless he doesn't wear his glasses) then I wasn't going to put him through that pain and misery again. They were even more unhappy when his regular eye doctor backed me up and agreed the surgery isn't necessary.
