Posted - Jul 28 2010 : 7:30:33 PM Have been so busy getting the new store opened, but we finally made it. The open house was a huge success,I wanted a store that had something for everyone. At times I was so down and thought Wilma you are crazy to do this but with lots of hard work and a lot of good helping friends we did it.Opening day the store was packed until 5-30.I have some spaces rented to other vendors and all of them sold good.I just wanted to write this because a lot of the farm girls would like to do something like this also. If so just find you a good old building, cheap rent and go for it.I had a lot of painting on the building and most people would have run from it but you should see it now. I sent so many flyers out the poor old mailman was about to skin me.But one flyer brought in an out of town buyer that spent over 3600 dollars with us. My little store is so homey I can even take Little Man with me all day.I will be running different specials weekly or monthly.THIS weekend July 31 will be an all out linen day. I have baskets and boxes of doilies and linens . 50cents up.If you like linens or do crafts you can be a happy camper. How many times can you go into a room with nothing but linens and fabric and prowl all you want to cheap. Love ya all Miss Wilma

Posted - Aug 10 2010 : 7:41:11 PM I will try to get some pictures on tomorrow night,Today we had two couples from Washington state, and Sat the cutest little couple from England, they were buying all the linens they could pack in a suitcase. Sofar the store is doing great, I just hope it continues, I am a little scared with the economy and all, but I guess anyone can afford 50 cent linens. They have been buying them at 50 to 75.oo worth, and I still cant miss them. Now I havent ironed any of these, And at that price I am not going to. Whew I am sick of looking at linens

Posted - Aug 06 2010 : 07:49:25 AM Glad to hear you have had your grand opening. I hope it continues that way.
I was just reading in our local newspaper about a store up the road a piece in Connell, WA that started out as a hardware store and is now a bonafide "yard" sale place. They have everything except food. I hope to be able to visit one day.

Posted - Jul 29 2010 : 7:47:53 PM Lisa so good to hear from you, Hoping to see all of you soon. My store is not fancy just homey. Everyone that comes in really say good things about it. Also we have repeat customers so that means they are happy with us. Like I said I found an old building with cheap rent and lots of elbow grease. The back room looked like it had been used for a garage, one side had concrete dug up in piles. You know theres not much you can do with that so I just had Sterl make me sorta like a platform to just cap right over it then the owner gave me new carpet for it. It is the cutest booth in the whole store. I n my primitive window booth, I built an 8 foot wall then papered it with the wallpaper that looks like logs. I painted the outside mustard and am going to paint the walk entrance barn red.Oh by the way I have worked all day in the cabin house we now have a bed for any of you to sleep on. My son took my other bed when they moved to Nashville.Remember any of you that would like to come , Saturday IS MY BIG LINEN SALE DAY
