I just returned from a wonderful trip to my home state, Illinois. I honestly could drive through cornfields forever and never get tired of the beauty. It all looked so tall and green and healthy, and the blue sky was overhead.....go see my blog for just one photo of what I mean. I LOVE farmland!!!!!

I am looking forward to when that field is nice and ripe. I am going to see if I can buy some from the little old lady who has a house right there. Not sure if it is her field- but they have a tractor in their yard...

My DH and I went to look at some land in West Central WI on Saturday and took the long way home. Cornfields everywhere! It is well over 8 feet tall. Brings back memories of corn de-tassling when I was a teen. Looks like the corn is doing well this year.

Age only matters if you are wine or cheese.

I hope to see some of those cornfields in a few days when I am heading to Iowa. Can't wait.

Corn always amazes me too! It was "knee high on 4th of July" and now the fields are at least 5 foot tall and very lush. Is corn a heavy water crop? I would assume so with those long leaves and how fast it grows...
