If think this is a great little machine. I have the origianl one. I might save up for the new one Expression some day. Do you own one? And, if so which one and what cartrdges do you have.
I only have the George that came with my machine. I need a new mat. I'm trying to get one on ebay, but I keep being outbid. I won't spend over a certain amount.

So, let me know what you make with yours too
!

Thanks Stephanie,
I'll try your suggestion and let you know how it turns out. I bought the heavy duty blades to cut the vinyl and felt again.

Marjean, when you go to cut something other than paper, to preserve your cutting mat, lightly iron it onto freezer paper, shiny side to the fabric. The dull side should face "out".
If you're using felt, I would put the paper on, and cover the paper with a towel and then iron it (backwards, if that makes sense).

Having used the Sizzix and now having the cricut machine, I have to say that not having to store all those heavy dies that can only cut one image is much better with the Cricut and only having one little cartridge with hundreds of images.
I tried cutting felt with mine and it ruined my mat. So, don't do that unless there is a special mat for felt I don't know about. I also want to do the vinyl for a wall script. So, I hope it doesn't ruin a new mat.
I too am wanting the preserves, from my kitchen and freshed picked and walk in my garden cartridges.
I need to sell the Sizzix to buy my cricut cartridges. lol

I have the smaller Cricut and I love it. Marjean, I have the Cuttlebug because ProvoCraft came out with an "expansion" (it isn't really) where you can make your own embossing folders using both machines.
I get coupons from JoAnns and I use them to buy my cutting mats. They are $10 for 2 and with a 40%off coupon that makes them $6 each. You CAN use the coupons on the accessories as long as the accessories aren't on sale.
I have a class next Friday with a lady at a local scrap studio and she's going to tell me where she gets her cartridges...she told me she got one that was $80 for $5!!! When I get back, I'll post here and tell ya!
Oh yeah, my cartridges are Pagoda, George, Stamp Solutions, Winter Wonderland. I REALLY want Preserves and From My Kitchen.

I bought mine really cheap on ebay. That is why I'm selling the Sizzix die cutter, cause I don't need both.

I have been thinking about getting the Expression from HSN but I just don't know if I want to invest that much money into one. Actually, I do want to invest that much money, I just don't think I should! LOL

I don't have one, but several of the ladies I scrap with do. Someone brings one each month and everyone brings their own cutting mat. It's neat to see all the different cartridges!
