I have not been into the Farmgirl Connection in ever so long.
Farming takes up so much time.
We have been haying for weeks now. Heat has caused much suffering for we humans and the animals but the plants are thriving. Today a very violent thunderstorm came through and a bolt of lightning went right through the kitchen window. It took out our telephone. Repair man will be here Thursday, late afternoon. At least I won't have any sales people calling! Two weeks earlier we had a storm rip through and knocked down six trees around the house but not one hit the house. We now are starting on the 2011 winter supply of firewood! There was structural damage to the barn where we store the square bails and house the sheep. Instead we are round bailing everything this year. It will all work out but takes patience and.................time!

Wow, what a story! Lightning is so scary when it hits so close. Lucky your house did not burn down. Glad that you are back, Marilyn.

Take care,

The farming life, I know it so well. I am glad all you are safe and sound, and you have a good supply of hay coming in, and yes, lol, a wood supply started, even if it wasn't the ones you wanted, ah, life on the farm, never a dull moment.

Wow, sounds like a very busy time for you. I'm so glad the trees didn't hit your house and that you weren't struck by the lightening. That was a close call. Glad you're back!
