ANybody ever gone to this? Worth it--crowded? If you have been to this did you take the bus tour or drive your car? I'm thinking of going but I'd be driving from the other side of WA. JoAnn

Loved it! I went last year with 2 of my daughters. Loved walking through row after row of lavander. We drove, as with a baby, the bus seemed not such a good idea. If I go again, I think I would do the bus, as traffic was a bit crazy. It is well worth the trip!

I wear my cape around my waist.

Rebekka, Thanks for the information. I will indeed buy the essential oil. I did find a place to stay about 45 minutes away. The "vintage" landmark motel has reopened a few rooms and I got one. No tv or phone in the rooms but in a pretty setting. I also plan to visit Poulsbo on the way home. Then on to Camano Island where my sister-in-law just found out she sold her home and has to be out by the end of the month so I am going to help her pack. On the way home I will go on the North Cascades Scenic Highway--it's so beautiful it takes your breath away. Can't wait. JoAnn

Joann- I have been several times and I LOVED it, we are going next year...friends of ours live in Kingston and they go yearly. Do buy essential oil at jardin du soleil (the least expensive is what I get and they have the cutest tiny bottles to have for gifting or travel)- I just ran out of my last bottle and it is the best lavender oil I have ever found! Purple Haze is a great stop for lunch and their lavender salad dressing leaves my mouth watering just thinking about it- you can buy it by the case. It was not too crowded in my opinion...busy but not crazy... and such a lovely part of washington. Since we stayed with friends I am not sure about accommodations but I have stayed up at Fort Warden in Port Townsend and it was a blast- not sure how far away that is? There is beach camping and it is an old army base with great hikes up to the old bunkers.
Have Fun!

It's really hard to find an affordable available room nearby. I found one that looked adorable and describes itself as "vintage"--only problem was they had a fire earlier this year. I'm waiting for a call from the owners to see if they will have any rooms open soon.JoAnn

I have a former co-worker & a gal-pal friend who both live up there in Sequim,,,each year they send me tons of info on the upcoming Lavender Fest...Oh I how I wish I could make it.....but one of these days I will, after all, it's on my "Bucket List" of things to do!
If you go Joann, let us know all about it.

OH I wish I could go-

I used to order my lavender from Sequim years ago before I started to grow my own lavender-which isn't near as nice as their Grosso Lavender.

If you go take plenty of pics to post!! Lucky you!!!

JoAnn, I used to live on the other side of the mtns., although I never went to the Lavender Festival I've talked to many who did, they all say it is well worth it. It's a huge event over there, if you go, have a great time!!
