Some more news!!
I went to visit with my aunt this morning. We came to an angreement on the price. 27,000 with a 1,000 down and 195 a month! This was her suggestion and of course I said "Oh yeah! I can handle that!" And there's even more good news...... I can start moving in as soon as I want. Cousin B has a couple of more things to do to the house, but he says I won't be in his way. I hope to get started this weekend. [crossing fingers]
Ladies~ thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers and constant support. It means so much to me to have such wonderful friends. Hugs~ Melanie

*UPDATE*
Things are moving along. I almost have everything moved out of the house that needs to leave. I am down to a couple of chairs and mattress and box springs. If my aunt says it's ok I should be able to start moving in this weekend!

But dopey me forgot to shut off the water before I left the house yesterday. Guess what happened?! Would you believe that one of the couplings worked itself loose in 90 degree weather and spewed water all over the bathroom and kitchen?! Needless to say my aunt was not pleased and neither is cousin B. I feel like such a dope (to put it nicely).

To top things off, my van is in the shop. The transmission seal decided this would be a most wonderful time to give out. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel....

My mom has been helping me get the house cleaned out and running me where I need to go. And for the BIG news.. Tomorrow morning I will go to the court house with my aunt to take care of the paperwork at the recorder's office and the tax accessor. Yes she has decided to sell me the house!!!! She has calmed down over the water. She reminded me of her flaky moments that caused worse problems than what I have done.

Almost! Just a little longer!!

Hugs~ Melanie

My aunt has finally gave me permission to clean everythng out of the house! Can I get a YEE-HAW?!

We have been working on it everyday since this past Sunday. We would have a lot done if this horrible heat wave would let up. It has been in the mid to upper 90's the last couple of weeks with the heat index making it feel like triple digits many of those days. YUCK!!!!

Actually we did get a break in the weather today. A high of 82 and it was absolutely wonderful. Unfortuately, cousin Bob has been to work on the house and there is no electric now. But it should be going again in a day or two, just in time for next heat wave. [sigh] But at least we are getting somewhere.

We have hauled off three loads to the Goodwill and a couple of loads off to the dump. We still have quite a bit left to go though.

We are so happy to finally see a light at the end of this tunnel! So if I seem like I'm a little AWOL lately, ya'll know what's going on.

We do not have a move-in date set for sure, but.... I have a guy coming in the morning to pick up three pieces of furniture. He works with an organization in our area that helps women and children who have been victims of domestic violence and they have a young mom with a couple of children moving into the area who needs household things. There are a couple of chairs that need to be hauled off to the dump and then we are down to getting the little stuff out. Then of course we also have to pack our stuff up. I think we should be able to get started moving in in about a week. [crossing fingers nothing goes awry:)]

Good for you Melanie! I'll join you in a YEE-HAW! I'm sure that having the house will be worth the hard work it takes to clean it.

YEE-HAW! I'd say shouting with joy is certainly appropriate in this case! When are you going to get moved in there?
It'w been a long wait but it will be worth it now that its going to be yours. I know you had plans for how to dress it up to be really your home, are they ready to go?
Let me know because a special housewarming gift is certainly in order!

That is fantastic! I have thought a lot about you the last week or so. I was wondering how things were moving along. I hope the heat lets up some myself. It sure makes yard work and gardening hard when it's so hot.
