A glass of white wine and James Taylor and Carole King on PBS.

Each generation carries its own memories in music. For my mom it was big band, WWII, and I really get it. I understand where they were coming from totally.

For me it was Carole King and James Taylor, camping in the big woods, living a natural life, getting back to basics and saving the environment.

Their music lives on, without the help of fireworks, and over the top scary, and too sexy outfits. Their music is real and gosh....I wish I could explain to younger people how it meant to have music combined with a greater purpose. Getting back to Mother Earth and living the way we are supposed to, treating each other and the world rightly, and loving folks the way we should.

Does anyone out there in farmgirl land understand? Or am I just reliving my old highs?

Jeannie, I like to re-live my old highs too! I get it. Memories...aren't they grand!

Age only matters if you are wine or cheese.

still love sweet baby james and listen to JT every chance I get. Okay, he's getting old but so am I and I still ove him to death. Carole king still has so much talent and that music is so magnificently mellow. makes me remember hanging out at my MIL pool with my SIL and just playing those albums over and over and over

I live with hope every day that the next generation will begin to realize the distruction and harm that has come to the earth and the world......and I live this hope because of my 13 year old daughter who is passionate to a fault to helping our earth and animals and she only listens to musicians that sing about her passion. Believe or not, there are some! And she does not hold back with her passions....she announces it loud and clear at school and through her reports, projects etc and through her youth group at church. And it is amazing how the adults are picking up on it and bringing it to life for the others. I know, it's only a molecule of the big picture of what needs to happen, but maybe it's the beginning. Thank you for sharing Shirley and for helping me to "remember" too!!! Hugs and Smiles, Lin

I think I understand, music isn't like it used to be and I don't think it ever will be, and I don't think your reliving an old high, I just think your living, and enjoying it!! Wish I had of known the two of them were on PBS tonight, maybe I'll take a peek right now!!

live, laugh, love
