Posted - May 27 2010 : 10:50:18 AM It's like she dropped from the sky and landed in a pile of Elli's clothes in the corner of his room. Her face is dusty and dirty and her little pink nose is smudged--
I don't know where she was but she must have been somewhere in the house and we looked EVERYWHERE!
Our basement is huge and cool and chock full of stuff I think she must have slipped down there for a siesta and decided she was hungry and came on upstairs; the door is always closed. WHEW! I can't wait for DD to come home from school she will be sooooo relieved! Darn cat....
We have had our Tibbitts for about 9 years. We adopted her from our local animal shelter when she was about 4.
Last night no cat to be found. She is an inside cat but has managed to slip out the back door only twice since we have had her. Both times she returned right away casually sitting on the side porch waiting to be let in.
I stopped at the animal shelter just a few minutes ago and nothing. I have been calling and calling-nothing. She has never been gone for more than a few hours and my DD is heartbroken.
She is a Tuxedo cat with a micro-chip ID and is wearing a purple color with her tags. She is very lovely and stately looking. I am frantic.
I noticed a creepy looking character yesterday afternoon cruising by the house TWICE real slow and I can't help but wonder if Tibbitts was snatched up and is gone for good.
Just wanted to talk about it.
Thank you ladies!

Posted - May 27 2010 : 5:21:26 PM Audrey...that's exactly what my DH said she must have done-crawled up into the floor joist in the basement-come to think of it she was kind of cob-webby and very dusty! Anyway...she is now resting comfortably in Elli's room-He tucked her in nice and cozy in this feather bed.
Thank you ladies---I appreciate the responses; made me feel so much better!!
I just love my farmgirls....

Posted - May 27 2010 : 3:09:04 PM Melody- So glad you found her!!! I can totally relate to how upset you all must have been. We had to put our beloved dog to sleep 3 weeks ago, and we are still mourning her! I am so happy for you that your story has a happy ending! Smiles, ~Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

Posted - May 27 2010 : 1:35:47 PM So glad to hear that you found her...we too had a missing cat episode last night, our smoke gray persion, Caelia Fey is 14 years old and not doing well...she went missing for 14 hours and we were afraid she had crawled off in some corner of the house to die but low and behold, at 2:30am shes scratching at our daughter's bedroom door wanting to get to her water dish...

Posted - May 27 2010 : 1:09:07 PM Glad she's home! We used to have a cat that crawled up into the floor joist in the basement ceilings. Took us a long time to figure that was where his hidey hole was! Silly cats! They are always giving you frights aren't they?
