Posted - Apr 30 2010 : 6:16:58 PM I am hoping to learn and teach, or find others who want to do a class in my area of old timey (and new-timey even) homesteader crafts! I want to take the Palouse Prairie Girls in that direction at the moment. What would youadd as "Essential" skills and crafts? So far I've got: spinning, both hand and wheel if possible, candle making, soap making, quilting, Organic (as possible) gardening, herbalism, and small animal raising...I'd like to add bee keeping, but I'm allergic to wasps and yellow jackets, so I don't know if I'm allergic to bees
Add what ever homestead skills you can think of. I need ideas! Thank !

Posted - May 01 2010 : 05:25:33 AM How about laundry soap and butter making? Quilling, tatting, knitting, crocheting, applique, silk embroidery, darning socks, and........ can't think, will add more later. Want to know alot about some of these old crafts? Look into acquiring Carla Emery's book. It is huge and full of wonderful infomation along this train of thought. |
