Have you had a visit lately from a Farmgirl friend? Let's hear about it! What prompts me to ask is that my farmgirl friend Dianna showed up unexpectedly today! She was wearing a straw hat, and her arms were full of beautiful Iris she brought me. (Roots and all!)

I met her at the door in garden shoes and a cow print apron (complete with a bandana patch.) I had bread rising, yogurt keeping warm, girls doing their lessons, and laundry out on the line.

She stayed for just a few minutes, to pick up some eggs and my milk jar, as she's running to the dairy for me tonight. What a wonderful trade and quick stop!

We talked about our gardens, swapped a recipe for her homemade noodles, and examined some spots on one of the Iris leaves. Farmgirl stuff!

It just made me smile, and want to share with people who'd understand.

I was lucky enough to have another Farmgirl visit tonight too! A friend came over (for the first time) to borrow my live trap, and got a tour of my chicken yard, my gardens, my chick brooder, my canning shelves, and the house! So much fun, it may be time to start a local chapter!! lol!

Sounds wonderful! If any farmgirl should ever just drop in on me, she'd likely find me in my PJs chasing after three little dirty boys who are doing something naughty. Or maybe up to my ears in laundry. LOL! I have some days that are great where I am in my apron and working in the garden and all put together and the boys are being wonderful little gems, but that's definitely not every day and it always seems like people drop by on the worst days...hahaha...I don't think I have any farmgirl friends close enough by to visit me here anyways....I"m safe.

I'm envious! farmgirl heart livin' in the city. It does remind me of visits my grandma used to get when I was a kid spending my summers with her.

Oh how I wish someone lived close enough to drop in, even though I live in the country most folks look at me like I'm crazy because I'm more of a farmgirl than any of them. So glad you had a nice visit. Blessings, Karen
