I looked and looked, and can't find the original thread. One of you wonderful farmgirl sisters wrote about taking a walk and picking up trash, and you inspired me. This afternoon,in honor of Earthday, my daughter and I each donned gloves and picked up a bag each of trash. One bag was recyclables. It was amazing how much trash was in our street! We aren't THAT busy of a road, but we filled our bags pretty quickly. We had several people stop and comment, hoping we inspired them, too. Thanks to the sister here who posted her thread! Wish I could have found it!

Hi Nicole,
I just got your email! I was really busy this weekend and havent been on the chatroom, so I appologize for the delay. It made me feel so good picking up trash the other day. Even though I was so dirty (there was mud along our roadside) I am determined to keep our roadside clean!
The neighboring town who came up with "Trashercizing" had so many volunteers picking up trash probably for nearly ~10 miles. The entire length of that road was so clean!
Thanks again for your email and post! Yall have a fabulous night!

It's something we will do again. My seven year old was so proud of herself!

It may have been me. I still walk and pick up trash along the road, it's good excersise. Vera a 80+ lady still walks a mile down the road and picks up the trash on the way back. Every day and she lives in the country. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Yay Nicole! At least a part of Sandy Hook is a cleaner spot today. I hope it did inspire those people who saw ya'll to stop throwing trash out their car windows. Because that's where it all comes from. So good for you two.

Its always amazing how much trash you can find when it doesn't look that bad from the road. :) Good job, Miss Penpal. I'm sure you and your lovely little gal did a fantastic job making your part of the world sparkly!
