"Just Don't Exercise, Trashercise" was today's motto for trash pickup in one of the neighboring towns here in Tennessee. I spent several hours today picking up trash along the roadside in our community, and it was definitely good exercise. So lets just not exercise, lets "trashercise" and clean up our towns! Anyone want to join me?

Its so important that everyone do what they can to clean up our communities. Its unfortunate that people do litter, but maybe, like Kris said, by setting example things will change. I would like to plan a day within our community to get folks out there to "trashercise" with me! It could be fun if there was a group involved!
Yesterday was a beautiful day to "Trashercise"!!!

Jamie, I absolutely love your quote there! It is so true. I have been picking up trash out of our yard that blows in off the road out front. It makes me so mad to see all of it. We have little cans in our vehicles for our trash. I think my middle daughter would love the idea of trashercising. She does a daily walk to strenghthen her back from a surgery last year and she's been complaining about the trash. It excites her to have a cool name to give a chore. I will get her a large tote to line with a trash bag and let her decorate it.

I thought about organizing a clean-up crew today actually.... I went for a jog an notices a TON of trash in the ditches of our roads... I was so disgusted!

That is a great idea, Kerry. I have noticed our roads are a mess. I was behind a girl in a jeep the other day and she was throwing things out the window. I wanted to run her over. I hate that. I have never done that before. And the one time one of my kids did that when they were little we turned around and went back and they picked it up. They have never done that again and still don't. I do stop and pick up trash bags that have blown out of people's trucks on the way to the dump, if I am in my truck.

Good for you for wanting to clean up your town. It takes one person at a time to amke a difference.

Kris
