I just had to tell some one as I am busting at the seam. We have a smithsonian film crew and local reporters on their way to shoot a documentary here at our house. Well actually in my DH's Shop. 15 years ago my Dh was asked by the Vietnam Vets group in WI and the local ABATE 1H group if he would put together an 1970 chopper motorcycle that would be donated to The Vietnam Wall in D.C. All the parts, paint, and hand tooled leather seat were all donated and my DH's shop put the bike together. The bike was then taken to D.C. escorted by the Rolling Thunder Ride to Washington D.C. during Memorial Weekend and left at the wall. This bike travels quite often with "The Traveling Wall" to different parts of the country. Well after 15 years it needed repairs and no one in Washington knew how or wanted to do the work for Free. So it was brought back here to WI for maintenance by my DH. This bike brings tears to my eyes when I see it. Not only because I am of the Vietnam War era but also the mom of 3 military boys who are fighting in todays war. I hope to post pick on DH's blog site later this week. So here I sit with my camera ready. Oh so much excitement!!!!!!!

I would love to see pictures of that bike. I bet alot of love went into building it. What a great thing to do. You should be very proud. Do you know when the documentary will be out?

Being of the Viet Nam era myself, not to mention I was once a bit of a biker chick myself. I think that is just the coolest thing ever. You must be so very proud. Boy, would I love to see pics of that!
