I can hardly believe my eyes.

It is snowing right now and the temperature is supposed to drop to below 29 degrees tonight...We have had what the old timers used to call a "false" spring. It was lovely while it lasted though-The grass was getting green and we had robins galore over the past few days.

I knew it was too good to be true!

Send me some spring farmgirls-I have had enough of old man winter!

Melody, what a very fortunate lady you are. Your home is just lovely. By the way your blog is so nicely done to. I love the The Intertidal Years and the lines from on Golden Ponds. Thanks so much for sharing.

Mary Jane...go to my blog site for a few pictures of the house.

www.melodynotes-melodynotes.blogspot.com

Actually, the Lumber Baron (employer) built the first brick home here in town and it is GORGEOUS-The house looks out onto the Bay of Green Bay. I take my dog Truman for walks on the street where his home was and still stands today. We have a very quaint library also only two blocks away from my home where a huge oil painting of him hangs in the original part of the library over a fireplace. He was very dapper looking with snowy white hair and a very neatly trimmed goatee!

Melody, please digress some more !! Oh your home sounds so interesting and beautful. Plus right in the middle of The Great North Woods. Have you ever posted any pics of it? It just sounds so lovely. In the snow or any time! Can you imagine it was a carriage drivers home. Can you imagine what the main house must of been like? It doesn't sound ominous Melody, it sounds like something out of book!

Mary Jane....I live in Lumber Baron Country-hence The Great North Woods LOL...

Actually, the home I live in belonged to a carriage driver of a gentleman who made his fortune in lumber and was one of the founding fathers our little town. I even have a maids back staircase off the dining room which opens into my little office. The little closet I have also has an "aria" window facing the tight little staircase! It's a very interesting huge old Victorian that we have restored over the course of 15-years....Sorry, I digress!

Glad you like the expression The Great North Woods---Even though it sounds kind of ominous!

No snow here in north-central Maryland (up near Camp David), but after being progressively hotter all week, yesterday it was very rainy, and today it is not rainy but it is colder. It was very sunny earlier, but now it seems to be getting overcast.

And here I've been whining about the cold and rain we have today. Well those late snows are called "the farmer's friend " or something like that in this neck of the woods. How nice to see some robins, I love them. Spring will drag itself to the North Woods yet, don't lose faith, Melody...

Please keep the cold and snow. I am tired of the cold and snow as well. I saw three robins yesterday here and they were a beautiful sight!

Hoping for sunshine and warm weather for you soon!

Oh Melody, I hope Spring comes AND stays soon for you! I think that we are finally done with snow, but just watch I will check the weather report after posting this and it will have changed with snow in the forecast. Hurry up Spring!

I am about done in with winter weather----I am sitting here by the woodstove contemplating hopping a train to warmer destination!

Melody, I'm sending some spring thoughts your way. I hope the snow is gone by now. Just keep thinking of spring and summer. This too shall pass.

I'm in shock that so many parts of the country are still having snow! Part of the climate change or just a freaky winter?

Woke up to several inches of slushy snow and a very brisk wind coming off the bay....

Don't know what this will do to my lavender as it had already begun to turn nice and green, but it was so dry here we really needed the moisture. You got to love living in the UP!

I know what you mean...Wisconsin one of the states where you can have the four seasons in a week! How pretty though, green grass and buttercups with snow frosting.

Isn't the change amazing? We are in MN and couldn't believe the difference in the temp this morning. 28 degrees here. What? What happened to spring? Hope everything is faring ok at your place with the odd change in weather!
