I am looking to buy my husband a straight razor but I know nothing about them and I can't believe how much some are (500-$1000). I do not need anything fancy just a good brand. He has a super thick beard. Anyone's husband use one, and where can you order a good one? Thanks for any help. Oh my husband does not want one from a thrift or antique shop, he is grossed out by someone else my have used it 100 years ago.

Hi Jane,

My husband started using a Straight Razor last November and absolutely LOVES it! It's amazing how smooth his skin is, what it feels like the morning before he shaves is how it used to feel at 5:00PM the same day.

I asked my husband for advice and he highly recommended that your husband check out this site and do plenty of research first:

http://straightrazorplace.com/forums/

He said to check out the forums, reviews and FAQ. He also mentioned that it is best not to skimp on a Strop and that it is best to get a really good quality one. If your honey has any questions, mine would be more than willing to answer any, just drop us an e-mail.

Hope this helps :)

If you have a beauty supply that is open to the public, you might try them as well, not sure if they still sell straight razors, but they used to.

Oh thank you, Jane, for putting that out there. We're looking to get a straight razor, too!
Luanne, thank you for the website.

Hi Jane -

The Lehmans website (www.lehmans.com) has several different ones for about $69 - $150. Maybe one of these would work for your husband?
