Posted - Apr 04 2010 : 4:02:17 PM It was the longest, very gentle, rolling quake I've ever experienced. Items swaying from the ceiling 5 min after the quake finally stopped! We're fine & no damage-felt like bein on a boat.

Posted - Apr 05 2010 : 09:10:50 AM Candy, I am so sorry to hear that someone got injured - it is not within your control but I know it still makes one feel horrible.
Glad to hear that everyone is O.K. - I am always amazed how much the animals can tell us about what we can not see or feel until sometimes it is too late. My animals and birds get the forcast right everytime - too bad the weather man does not come that close.
Keep that bubble wrap around you today and we will be sending prayers your way.

Posted - Apr 05 2010 : 08:20:02 AM the local news warned that we might have "trigger quakes" around California,so to be prepared-take any heavy objects off shelves, have the cell phone charged, sleep with shoes beside the bed, water supply, etc. Malibu had a 4.1 a short time after the Mexicali one. So the next few days will be interesting. San Diego is getting a lot of aftershocks.

Posted - Apr 05 2010 : 06:06:13 AM The horses sure felt it!! We had a big crowd over for Easter and we were going down to feed the critters right when the quake happened. The horses were running around like crazy people!! One of them bumped my friend's elderly mom and knocked her down. They took her to the ER and the x-rays showed a shoulder injury. The nurse in the ER asked when it happened and when they told her she said "That was right when the quake hit." They felt it there at the hospital. The shoulder injury isn't real serious but she has to keep it immobilzed for a couple of weeks. They are going to take her to see an orthopedist today or tomorrow to make sure everything is okay. Too much excitement for me!

Posted - Apr 04 2010 : 4:38:08 PM Just got a call from my son in Lancaster. He said it was a surprise when he heard the blinds rattling in his living room and then the whole house seemed to sway back and forth. Something nice about living in the great northwest, but not that it couldn't happen here.

Posted - Apr 04 2010 : 4:34:48 PM I just saw it on the news. I am glad everyone is ok.
I was in two earthquakes in my life. They were in Ohio of all places. One was strong enough to put a crack in my plaster ceiling.

Posted - Apr 04 2010 : 4:28:36 PM I live at the border of LA county and Kern county, approx 560 miles north of Baja, and we all felt it here. It was a high roller feeling here, no strucural damage, but a few things fell off one of my shelves, and my hanging pot rack was banging. Scared my G/sons pretty good, and the cows were pretty unhappy, worrying about their calves, other wise we are fine.
