I am ready to put up a clothesline and haven't been able to find wooden clothesline poles. I want them with the hooks already on them. Anyone know where to find them? Any ideas? Whats the best line to use. Plastic or cotton. Thanks for any leads on this.

MaryJane has the best clotheline ever!! I want to replicate it at my farmhouse, once we get moved in. Her's is a handmade on, with heavy duty wood posts (cedar maybe?) and what is the coolest is that the lines are on a pulley so they actually move . . . you just stand there and move the line to you. Oh please sweet Queen Bee Mama . . . can you post a pic of your amazing clotheline?!

Hugs & Blessings,

Brenda

Still no clothesline. I really want the wooden t-pole type of clothesline. I've seen them in yards but absolutely cannot locate any. Anyone know where I can find them?

The best clothesline is the one that folds & put's it away after it dries...I'm still looking for one. Today was a beautiful outside day and lucky me I didn't have enough dirty clothes to wash & hang.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

DH made my clothesline poles from threaded metal conduit. He used T-connectors to attach the bottom pole to the side poles, just screwed them together! He then drilled holes through the side poles and ran long eye bolts through them. That way, I can adjust the tension on the plastic-coated clothesline if it starts getting loose. They are set in concrete too. I LOVE my clothesline!! :)

P.S. He had the guys at ACE Hardware cut and thread the conduit.

My clothesline is from tree to tree, plastic coated line, if I had to do it over again I'd use the old fashioned "clothesline" type material. If I have something light on the line (curtains), they tend to slide all together. I love my clothesline and have used it about a half dozen times just this past 2 mos. or so, in fact will use it tomorrow, supposed to be a great day!!

My dh made my post from the handy lowes company for wood and the eyes for putting the line on. The best line is the plastic coated wire. It cost more but will last for years and not stretch or break. It comes in green or blue I like the green. best to you ladies. Lilly

Tracy, in your neck of the woods, wood poles probally would not last real long unless they are treated wood, which is toxic. My line poles are metal, my late hubby made them from 3 in water pipe, welded them into a t-shape, put 5 eye bolts in and set them in cement. I use cotton/nylon blend rope for the lines, they have to be replaced every 5 yrs or so, but they will not stain the clothes.
