I'm depressed today...so sad...not sure why...probably been alone in my house too long.
I gave away my cute little puppy a few weeks ago. I had been in and out of the hospital and needed people to watch her...that worked out fine. Then I was convinced I had to move to an assisted living situation....but didn't do that. In the meantime I gave her away. Still miss her.
She went to a family with a 7 yr old girl who was heartbroken over her dog dying. She had been raised with her dog and her mom had been looking for a new one for her. I didn't realize they could have afforded to pay something when I gave her to them....now I can't afford to buy a new doggie. I feel sad and mad at myself for it now...haven't been depressed like this in a long time.
Other things are probably bothering me but this is what is on my mind now....so sad!

I am so sorry you are feeling down. I don't know your age, but you mentioned assisted living. Is there a senior center near you, that you could get out and meet others or have into your home? You might also contact your local vets, sometimes they know of pets that need homes.

I hope you are feeling better soon. Sending you big hugs!

Oh Linda, I'm so sorry. It is so hard to give up a pet. I do hope you will be able to find another.
Sending you good thoughts, hugs and prayers.

Dear Linda,

I am praying for the Lord to lift you up and encourage you! I know how losing a pet can be so heartbreaking. I agree with checking for a free dog. That's how we found our girl and she is a joy! Perhaps your vet knows of a smaller dog that someone cannot take care of due to moving, etc. If I were there I would give you a HUGE hug too!

Linda-I'm sorry you had to give your puppy away. I did that once with a rabbit and then wished I hadn't. but there are plenty of other dogs, cats, birds, etc. looking for a loving home. As for the depression--just keep hanging on and things will get better. I get depressed too, and it's hard to imagine I'll ever feel good again, but I always do. I was feeling depressed today and then I went to a new church (some thirty miles away) but I really enjoyed the service and think I'll go there permanently. Even though I probably can't go every week. So a blah day turned out to be a good day after all. Please don't be hard on yourself when what you need is to validate yourself. when you're depressed, it's easy to be hard on yourself, so treat yourself to some positive experiences and positive thoughts. I will keep you in my prayers ((hug)))

Oh I am so sorry to hear that the blues have grabbed you - I think you did the right thing at the time about your dog but I so understand what that loss means.. I gave a home to a cat off a Craig's List - the owner was moving and could not take him with her. That might be just the place to look. I also believe when the right soul needs you they will show up..

As for being sad - there are no words I can say to change that - when I get that way I remind myself of all the things going right and then I also take stock in all those troubles others have had and come thru. Be kind to yourself - take care of yourself and know that we are all here to listen, love and place you in the light of hope.

Too bad you aren't closer - there is always tons of laughs here at the Funny Farm...

Hugs and prayers to you Linda. I am sorry you are feeling so down. A pet can help, but sometimes they are expensive. Check your local Craig's list, a lot of people go there to re-home their pets. Also, just remember that God does not put anything in front of us that we cannot handle and when a door closes a window opens. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm cleaning out my closets and found spring/summer clothes. The excercise helped.
The agencies with rescue dogs are charging, but I believe somewhere a small dog will be free or cheap and need a loving home....I just know it.

Oh Linda I'm sorry to hear about you're being down. Do check the papers for a free pup,or cat,a rabbit, perhaps? Go outside if possible and breathe in the air, notice nature all around you. You're in my thoughts....

Oh Linda I'm so sorry you're feeling sad! I'm sorry about your puppy too! There IS something to having pets...they can fill that one spot in your heart just right! My best girl, Sugar, passed away 3 years ago. I had had her 11 years and I just haven't had the giddyup to get another dog. But a month before she passed away, I found a stray kitten. Stanley came at just the right time! He is such a sweety! I think he thinks he's a dog...whatever floats his boat!:) I think looking in the paper is a great idea maybe even the local pound or even rescue pets (I know these cost a little but you can still look)! Keep your chin up Linda! I will be praying for you!

I understand depression Linda, but have you checked in your local papers for a free dog? often there are free pet listed in their own section. I'm so sorry that you are sad and blue on top of the depression. I hope that you get another doggie. But it was very sweet that you made the little girl happy.

Linda, I'm so sorry your are feeling depressed and alone right now. And sorry you had to give up your puppy. Have you looked in the paper? There are all kinds of free pups especially right now. I'm so glad you didn't have to go to an assisted living facility. MAybe there's someone who needs a place to stay that would love to live with you. Anyway, just a few suggestions. I hope you do find a new puppy soon. They do seem to keep us busy.

I will be thinking about you and praying things will work out for you. Hugs.
