Okay, been here about a month, and what a big influence MaryJanes Farm has been on me! Such positive changes. In about one month, I have embroidered, baked bread, tried new recipes, planted seeds, penpal, did a knit swap, and am involved in Secret Santa Swap. I am inspired to try new crafts, start sewing, be more green and eat more organic. So many ideas and concepts here are saving my family money. I am very excited to find others with my same interests, and I have started a Sisterhood chapter, "Connecticut Simpler Life Sisters" , that will have their first meeting next month! I also have gotten to know so many of you on here and made new friends. Just so happy to have found you all. (And, today, I applied for my first Merit Badge!)

This forum has been like the school and the playground all in one. :) And we can all be teachers and pupils.

Hooray on the Merit Badge.
I resisted doing that for such a long time and don't know why.
I am having so much fun earning them now.
I like to look through the list for inspiration.

Amy and Nicole, I feel the same way. If anything just to know there are other sisters out there that are like me. I feel a little alienated from my friends.

Hey Amy,

Exactly..Now not to say I am doing all these things well..(just look at my embroidered patch, ha ha) but I am trying them. And you summed it up perfectly, too.

You go girl!! MJF has made a huge difference here at our house as well, the biggest one being that I'm a lot more smiley :) I used to do a lot of the simple life things but felt like I was the only one...and it can get rough feeling like you're the only fish swimming up stream. MJF has helped me to realize I'm not the only "odd duck" out there...and maybe, in fact, its everyone else in the world who just "doesn't get it!" I appreciate the friendships I have made in the very short time I have been here, and I look forward to much more time together with the people here!!
