Remember this movie? I came across the book yesterday when I was looking for something to read, and thought, loved the movie, but don't think I ever read the book. Its a Fancy Book, someone must have given it to me years ago.

That's a beautiful copy, especially because it's both books on that family by Jessamyn West.

Last weekend, we watched "A Big Hand For a Little Lady", and one of the actors was Robert Middleton. I sat through that whole movie trying to remember why he was so familiar. He played the neighbor that Gary Cooper had the horse race with. Such a good story. Now I want to watch it again......

The horse race on Sunday is one of the funniest parts of the movie. It stars Gary Cooper, Dorothy McGuire, and Anthony Perkins. I didn't know there was a book. The movie had its moments and Gary Cooper was pretty good in it.

I've read the book but didn't know there was a movie.

The chapter about the horse race on Sunday was excerpted in one of my grade-school readers, and I was suprised to find it in the novel. I thought, "Wait, this seems familiar!"
