Channah, that sounds so fun! When I listen to country, I just feel like a part of some of huge family. Every country song also stirs up a picture.

Thomas Newman~ "The Farm" from the movie The Road to Perdition. I think it's simple, elegant, sad, hopeful...sorta like life :)

Marly~
Glad to know another farmgirl finds great inspiration in Mr. Copeland's score. I did know that about Martha...having been a ballerina for so many years, and attending a performing arts school, we took "dance history" and classes in addition to the actual physical classes (so as to make a more well rounded dancer!)...my best friend, Jess, currently dances with the Martha Graham Company :)

I am a huge country music fan too! So many good songs! I heard on the radio that Taylor Swift's "Love Song" was the song she wrote for her high school talent show. She writes a majority of her songs. I am big fan of her too Kristin!

Kerry I agree! American Honey reminds of something like Little House on the Prarie.

Aaron Copland, the American Composer, was one of my favorites. His "Appalachian Spring" is absolutely beautiful. In one of his interviews he said, "I gave voice to that region without knowing I was giving voice to it." Did you know that when he was first working on the composition, he named it "Ballet for Martha"? Martha Graham the dancer had been commissioned to do the choreograph and she danced in the leading role for the ballet.
I agree, "Appalachian Spring" would be one of my most favorites.

Well, I was wondering if they had any other songs. Our radio station only plays that one song of theirs all the time. So I like this one. I love the clothes blowing in the breeze on the line. Nice.

I have to say we are huge Taylor Swift fans here. My grands just LOVE her music. I found a kareoke cd and they have to play it all the time when they are here. I think my favorite is That Stupid Old Pickup Truck. I don't know if that's the name. But Kansas sings that and it's too funny.

But my favorite in Alan Jackson Remember When.

That is a great song. My sister and I went to see Lady Antebellum at the HLSR on Monday. They were really good it was a great concert. But I think my favorite will always be Kenny Chesney's "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy".
