Posted - Mar 19 2010 : 08:16:50 AM Michelle, everyone wants my pig . . . think I should start an auction. LOL! No, I am too attached to her. But yes, you are right. Variety is the thing we all need and it would be boring to all be the same.
Hugs & Blessings,
Brenda

Posted - Mar 18 2010 : 07:58:23 AM I have a light sage green color in my living room and kitchen but in the living room it's paired with olive green on the stone fireplace. In the kitchen I have used purple but it may be darker than a pastel. I like to mix things up. I think you're right Brenda about it great that everyone is different! I still want a pig just like yours!!
It's all good!

Posted - Mar 18 2010 : 07:48:01 AM Lilly, I think our differences is what makes decorating fun. I love seeing other colors, themes, etc. in other peoples homes . . . it would be boring as #@! if all the houses looked like mine! LOL! So while I wouldn't decorate in pastels, I can enjoy and appreciate homes that are decorated in this way. My Mom loves pastels and there is no where more comfortable than going to visit my Mama!
Hugs & Blessings,
Brenda

Posted - Mar 17 2010 : 12:15:39 PM Dana, grab your book and come on over! I'll get the teapot going! For those of you that asked about my pig, she was just a TJ Maxx find many years ago. She is just plaster, which is why she was getting a bit chipped up. I did spray a bit of antiquing spray on her to countrify her a bit. I use design masters brown for antiquing . . . it is for dried flowers, but works great for anything that you want a bit of transparent antiquing.
Hugs & Blessings,
Brenda

Posted - Mar 16 2010 : 6:18:46 PM Beautiful!! I left a comment on your site, but WOW that is some fantastical decorating! I just don't have an eye for stuff like that so when I see people who can do that, I think its amazing. My favorite part was the pig on top of the cabinet. :)
