are there any farmgirl military brats out there?
we lived in kentucky, new york, mass., california, germany and thailand before settling in beautiful washington state.

I was also an Air Force brat. I loved it - I met so many people and saw so many places that I know I NEVER would have met or seen otherwise. It WAS so hard leaving them though. Both of my parents are gone now, my father 2 years after he retired from the Air Force (he was only 40), and my mother 30 years later. They both loved the life. And now I am happy and proud that my younger son is carrying on the tradition. I miss him terribly but knowing the life he will experience, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Cathy....My dad retired to a very small community where everyone who lived there was born there and grew up there. I was a Freshman just entering the one and only high school waaaaaay out in the country...you know I don't think my older brother ever recovered from the move! Instead of falling alseep listening to the flight line we were inundated with the cacophony of peepers!! LOL No one spoke to me for an entire year.....it was really rough.

i loved the life too! it was so much fun to meet new people and experience different cultures. didn't want my dad to retire either. it was harder to adjust to living in one spot then it was moving around!
i knew there had to be some of us on this forum.

ME!!
Gosh... I was born in Texas-moved to Ramstein, Germany--off to Bangor, Maine--then to K.I. Sawyer Michigan and finally, regrettably. my dad retired after 20-years of duty in the U.S. Air Force.
I thought a civilian was someone who just had their fatigues at the dry cleaners! 
Loved the life....and I did NOT want my dad to retire!

Hi Cathy. I'm an army brat! I've lived in Germany, South Carolina, Georgia, Washington, California and Arizona =) My Mom was born in Ireland, so I've been to Dublin and parts of County Cork as well as various places in England.
