Today I woke up feeling great and decided I wanted to start posting daily about something I am grateful for.
Today I am increasingly grateful for sunshine and the first feelings of spring!

Today I'm grateful for this beautiful, early spring day. Also grateful for a loving husband who has stuck by side through thick and thin!

Today I am glad I have things around me that remind me of those I love, both those who are still here and those that aren't; paintings by daughters,furniture my husband built, oak table, buffet and secretary that my mom and dad had all the years I was growing up, my Grandma's dishes and crocheted table cloth for holidays and special occasions.

Today I am grateful for the sunshine. We need it very badly. I am also, grateful for my family, much of which is here and has been for some time, and my pets who keep me laughing and my horses who bring me peace and quite when I need an escape from the chaos of having most of my family here.

I am grateful that my rally on Saturday went very well. We were in a couple of newspapers. I am grateful that can hang wash today!

I am so grateful for sunshine and for my healthy happy child! Even when she wakes me up 2 hours early!
I am also thankful for the trials that we are going through right now because it makes the light at the end of the tunnel shine that much more bright!

I am thankful that I've found the Farmgirl Sisterhood. Who knew I'd find so many new friends who are just like me!

Today I am thankful that I ended up with the flu when my husband was off from work...which meant I was granted a day of sleep and not having to worry about what the kids were tearing apart or fighting about. Hubby took care of it all. I am thankful for my sweet husband. :)

Today I am grateful that I now have long ago high school friends as neighbors. We lost contact for many years and have recently found each other and now able to spend fun times together in our retirement age.

Today I am grateful for the pets that bring love and laughter to my days; the cockatiel who greets the morning with song(it may be intended for his lady-love, but it makes me smile too), for our two dogs just growing out of puppyhood who greet us with crazy enthusiasm, and the 3 cats.

Today I am very grateful for friendships that are honest, understanding, open, hilarious and uplifting.
I'm blessed to have several "real world" friendships like that and am excited to find that same spirit here.

Today I am VERY thankful the sun is shining and it has not snowed! Also I ahve gotten spinach and spring lettuce planted in the cold frame outside and tomato seeds started. It feels like spring today! I have dirt under my fingernails again. Yeah!

Today I am thankful I cleaned out my tall cubboard and will not have to buy mushroom or tomato soup for a year.

I've found that expressing gratitude on the great, happy days is easier, but that it is true therapy on the opposite kind of day. That's when I really need to remind myself of all the wonders, miracles and simple pleasures of life.
Today I'm grateful that DH and I have had the opportunity to share the growing up years with our children; the memories of great times, and of difficult times endured and dealt with. All three have grown up to be people we would like even if they weren't ours!
