I just bought a treadle sewing machine this weekend for $40. It's a Mason rotary. I've looked on the internet but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the belt that connects the wheel and the foot press. Can anyone help me find this? Thanks so much.

I live pretty close to an amish area and they sell the belts I think you are talking about. they have rubber ones and leather ones and I believe I got mine for around $5.00 If you can not find one let me know and we will work out getting you one..

Lynn,

I Googled "Singer treadle sewing machine" for my Singer and found a website that told how old a machine is by the serial number. You could try that. My Singer uses a leather belt that is spliced together with a big "staple."

There should be a small metal plate on it somewhere with the make and model. It maybe underneath. You could always look it up online and try to match it.

It's all good!

At the risk of sounding rather silly....How do I find out how old it is? And exactly what model it is? I know NOTHING about treadle sewing machines and very little about regular sewing machines.

If you get an idea of the width of the belt try an auto parts store. How exciting for you. I am envious, but happy for you!!

It's all good!
