Hi sisters,
I don't know where the birthday thread is.
Today I turn 60 years old...the fifties didn't bother me but I have to tell ya that this feels really strange...to be such a big number...sounds so old to me. :-(
Anyway, it will be over soon...I'm buying myself something and going out to eat before the day is over. I got flowers from my son and daughter in law...how beautiful they are!!

Tell me what your birthdays felt like to you!

Hi Michele,I'm real interested in the free college courses. Thought while Tom is trying to get a job that may be a good idea for him. Is this everywhere or what? I'll have to start checking this out! Thanks for the info.

Blessings, Brenda

Happy Birthday Linda,
I know just where you are coming from . 6 0 bothered me more than any other . Look on the bright side, though. You can take some college courses for free, get a senior discount at a lot of places and ........it sure beats the alternative LOL

I hope your birthday was a special one. How nice to get flowers. I'm sure they are especially pretty in the middle of winter.

I turned 50 this last Thursday. I really do believe the old tale that "life gets better as we get older." It has been so true for me. Not that my life was bad before, but I've grown to be a different person and take life differently.

Happy, happy birthday and the best to you this next year!

Happy Birthday, Linda! I've got you beat by about 5 months. My Mom always hated getting older, saying "It's not fair." It made me think I'd never complain. She made it to 88. Consider the alrternative of not having had the chance to grow older.
Now after a bout with cancer a few years ago I cherish every day, month and year. I retired a couple of years ago, I think that made me feel older, temporarily, than any number could.
Enjoy your day, enjoy your year.

Happy Birthday Linda, When I turned 30 I filed for a divorce to proctect my sons. So that was a hard birthday. When I turned 40 I felt so old and all my friends are 10 years younger than me and their children 7 years older than mine, so it was OK but just a day. When I turned 50 my husband (now) through me a big surprise party. I felt great. I think I know how you feel. I will be 60 in a year & 1/2. But my shoulder has a rotor tear in it. I'm in more discomfort than ever, but I am so thank-ful I am still here. I just wish my body felt as young as my mind thinks I am.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Happy Birthday Linda!!! I am 61. I have to be honest and say, I swear every year it just gets nicer. I feel freer and have a lot of fun. Don't sweat the small stuff like I used too. I am playing and having fun!! I was a little funny about turning 60, but then it has just been getting better all the time. So don't give your number age a thought. Just be yourself and enjoy all the new things to come.I think in some ways I am happier than I have ever been. You'll see!!!!

Hugs MJ
