Posted - Feb 20 2010 : 12:46:45 PM Who is your favorite? John Wayne or Roy Rogers?? It's funny because half of us like Roy Rogers and the other half likes John Wayne. We sometimes have a mini "War" about who is better. lol I really like them both but Roy Rogers is my favorite! I just thought this would be a fun topic! Hugs, Channah

Posted - Feb 22 2010 : 10:28:50 AM Roy Rogers! A Saturday morning staple at our house and I adored Trigger!!! Just never really got into John Wayne, especially the cowboy movies. The military ones were okay, but nothing spectacular. Also loved Dale Evans. I wanted to be her.

Posted - Feb 21 2010 : 1:58:10 PM John Wayne - my Mom has loved him for years and my favorite movie at all times is The Quiet Man. But I do love Trigger. But did you know that his name was Golden Cloud before Roy got him. They changed his name because Smiley Burnett made the comment that he was "quick off the Trigger".

Posted - Feb 21 2010 : 1:28:54 PM John Wayne was a terrific actor but I have read that the man (real person) wasn't such a nice guy. From EVERYTHING I have read and heard, Roy and Dale were truly good Christian people. We drove all the way to CA from KS just to see their museum. The next year, they moved it to Branson, MO. That's just 3 hours from here. So, we went again. Said I would never go back to Branson because of the traffic, but had to go see if the museum was the same. It was and we were so glad we went.

Posted - Feb 21 2010 : 1:03:34 PM CJ, I read that book and it was so good!!! My mom worked with tons of down syndrom kids and thought they were so neat and full of life!!
I guess the think I like about Roy Rogers is how kind and giving they were to so many kids!! How they would visit hospitals and Trigger would do tricks for them!! I love Dale Evans too!!!
But like I said before, I love them both!! Hugs, Channah

Posted - Feb 20 2010 : 8:47:33 PM ROY ROGERS!!!! "Grew up" with him and his wife, Dale Evans.
And, they had a little girl with Down Syndrome . . . Dale Evans wrote a book about her. That will always mean a lot to me because I am the mom of a son with Down Syndrome.

Posted - Feb 20 2010 : 3:50:28 PM I'll have to go with Roy Rogers. My grandma used to have some small plastic figures of Roy, Dale, And Trigger, and a metal horsetrailer that they rode in. I loved playing with them. I even have a video of a Roy Rogers movie. but John Wayne was good, too. Cindy

Posted - Feb 20 2010 : 2:13:04 PM That is a tough one - BUT I'd have to go with Roy Rogers. I watched him all the time when I was a kid - even went to the museum in Califorina once - on vacation - he was there and took his picture with me! I thought I was really somethin'!!

Posted - Feb 20 2010 : 1:13:52 PM I'm with Brenda. My hubby is a total John Wayne-aholic. Has every movie the man ever made. Even coffee cups. So I guess I would have to say the big man, too. Although I did love Roy's horse.

Posted - Feb 20 2010 : 1:00:22 PM Oh Channah, if I didn't answer with John Wayne, I'd probably have to move out. We own every movie he was ever in. So I guess I'll have to cast my vote for Johnnie!!
