Posted - Feb 19 2010 : 07:55:28 AM Here's another. I try to remember this quote and say it to myself everyday -
"The cheif cause of failure and unhapiness is trading what you want the most for what you want at the moment."
A person is a success if they get up in the morning and get to bed at night and in between does what they want to do. Bob Dylan

Posted - Feb 18 2010 : 4:36:34 PM Michelle, that is my favorite quote, too! I still don't know who originally quoted it, but I have tried to remember to live by it - especially after being transplanted from one side of the country to the other. Love all the other quotes too! Here's one from one of my daughter's favorite movies: " 'Hello is the first word in a new friendship".

Posted - Feb 17 2010 : 1:04:41 PM Diane...I love what you said...our name truly is the only thing that we can take with us...and would it not be sad that our children, family and friends mostly had bad memories of us because of the kind of life we lived before them...

Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 11:47:37 AM I have to agree with Channah, "Folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be" (Abraham Lincoln). And it was on a darling little note that Channah sent me that these words were written, I was having a little rough patch after losing my DH, returning to work, etc. I have chosen to practice that phrase many times daily since receiving Channah's note. What a difference it has made in my attitude, especially at work!!! I cannot thank that sweet little 15 yr. old enough!!!!

Seriously... This one is my life's motto. It's by the late Erma Bombeck. "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." ~ Erma Bombeck

Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 07:58:31 AM God created man and then he thought, "I can do better than that!". Then he created woman.
The dh doesn't find that as funny as I do. I also love the one at the bottom of my posts.

Posted - Feb 15 2010 : 2:25:33 PM I like my by line at the bottom. For me it is so very true. I also love bloom where you are planted. My mother said that all the time and truly lived it. No matter where she was she made the best home and life out of it.
