Snowing in North Florida - they even closed the courthouses because of the snow and the problems it brings to places that are not prepared for it. Wow - I LOVE snow and look forward to living where we actually get some - could stay home for snow days and work on scrapbooking projects - but seriously - SNOW (we have had snow in Miami when I was in college in 1977-78) but really - wow......get warm folks. Imagine snow in 49 of 50 states - only place no snow to be seen was in Hawaii. Stay warm.....

We're having unusually warm weather up here for February, usually we're in the last deep freeze (-20 to -30 C) before March, today it's hovering about zero.
Weird weather.
Drive carefully those who aren't used to the white stuff. Though the kids in these warmer regions are probably enjoying the novelty.

Well, I just got pics from my best friend who lives in South Carolina, and she just had 7 inches of snow! She lives about 30 miles from the Georgia. They have had a skiff of snow once in awhile maybe 1 to 2 inches. But rarely. She has lived there 20 years now and never had this much ever. What ever you choose to call it, the earths weather has surely been messed up. Winter where it shouldn't be and melting polar ice caps.You are so right Kim, living the MJ way does make a lot of sense for us and Mother Earth.

No - no snow in Hawaii by all reports - no snow in Vancouver where the winter Olympics are either - how funny! They changed the "global warming" tag to "climate change" because the winters are going to be colder and summers are going to be hotter because of pollution fo the atmoshpere - so trying to live more in tume with the Earth, while looking for ways to subsist without extensive use of petroleum -based products - i.e.organic, sustainable,few phosphates and chemicals - can really have a positive impact in changing our environmental footprint - sounds like living "the Mary-Jane way" makes even more sense, doesn't it?

I am so lucky that my part of the world is just its usual soggy self. We haven't had snow here all winter and I am knocking on everything wooden so I don't jinx it and bring snow here.

I have lived here my entire life and have never seen this before. We had over a foot of snow. I used to think it might be nice to get real snow but I'm just not as enchanted as everyone else in my neighborhood. Maybe because DH knocked off his side view mirror getting into the garage because his car isn't made for this. We were without electricity for 14 hours and our tree fell on our neighbor's house. Fortunately there was not a lot of damage to her house but still..There are 150,000 homes in our area still without electricity. We also didn't get a tv signal because the dish was filled with snow. That didn't bother me at all of course :) I enjoyed that part.
I am also enjoying watching Lukas and Liam build an igloo. They can't get in it because Jake (our dog) won't get out.
On the whole I think I could live without snow..

In southern Mississippi we haven't had snow in like 12 years. There is still snow on the ground here. I remember it snowed in Orlando on the weekend of thanksgiving in 1987. I was in bootcamp. I lived in Hudson Fl just north of Tampa for 17 years and I don't think we ever got snow that far south. My son still lives there and he said they got light flurries about a month ago.

So much for global warming??
I had to laugh out loud when DC and Philly got sacked with more snow this past week
Ha ha
I think it was God's humor played on the politicians.
Same for all this stuff hitting the rest of the U S pretty interesting
And you know for the past couple years we have gotten very lucky with nice mild winters
Did anyone elae read the Farmer's Almanac to see we were going to be in for a rough winter? "They" were right! |

It snowed in Northern and Middle Louisiana! Two snowfalls for Louisiana in one year, that is hard to believe.

Mauna Kea aNd Mauna Loa both get snow in Hawaii so that would be all 50 states!

Sitting here drinking hot cocoa and warming my hands on the cup. We have 16 inches. It's just flurries right now, but....really....after 16 inches.....we just don't care about flurries.lol

Kim, Are you sure about Hawaii? Seems like I have heard that there is snow on the highest volcano. Not sure, heard it somewhere. Our snow is about gone but supposed to get flurries on Sunday. Who knows when the next big one is comming.
