Posted - Feb 03 2010 : 06:10:00 AM This really was a nice buy. So many old vintage pins. Several pearl pieces. I wonder how you can tell if the pearls are real? Because some of them are pretty old. There were also some nice bracelets. The pieces that were broke I put aside for crafts and for the kids to play with. I take all the beads off the ones I can and put them in a big jar of- well beads. That little tea pot and tray cleaned up so nice I really like them, not sure why, just do. The little doll found a place to live. I like the tiny porcelain dolls. Would be great to find some really old ones, tiny that is.Well someone has had to much coffee, won't say who. Nancy Jo

Posted - Feb 03 2010 : 06:32:45 AM Clean the pearls first!!! Then I drag them across my teeth. If they are smooth like glass or plastic they probably are. Pearls feel a little gritty. You can also tell by looking at the holes...if the knots arent in the way. Good treasure find. We cant find anything like that around here anymore. |
